That is ten times what the darn thing acutally costs. Hell you could get it painted professionaly for cheaper than that.

I think the paintjob is great. Not 600$ great, but then no paint job is 600$ great.

The paint job is great, but I'd only pay $600 if interior stuffed with half that much.

It an outstanding paint job really, but over $600? Pft. Hell, I'd never pay more than $100 for that.

Dman is a professional painter. He did a vehicle for me when he was starting out, it was a dirtier more realistic style, and reasonably priced. Now his hallmark seems ot be a very smooth flat paint job, and I'm not sure if they are GW colors, but they seem more vibrant than many models. Details are then carefully picked out. Edging on the vehicle is very fine, and may be in two shades. Wish I knew if he was airbrushing or hand painting the tanks.

For the money, I think you would get a similar effect from GMM studios.

I think there may be one or two collectors gradually building up armies for play or display exclusively of his stuff. But, he doesn't do commissions very often, not when he can get those kind of prices!

I dont see any evidence of shill bidding.

As for the winner, I think he is a genuine buyer I looked at his winning bids, for which he has feedback. The guy is buying up pro-paint miniatures in large quantities. This must be seriously expensive. Either he has a very good job or is blowing an inheritance.

So it looks to me like a genuine sale. Fair enough.

As always with ebay, remember that the seller did not set the price. At least two people trying to buy it did.

Okay, that winning bid amount is a tad suspect. Considering the thread title, it is very suspect!

You mean 6****7?

That looks like automatic bidding up to his maximum bid.

eBay have made it impossible to make any judgement about the honesty of any of their auctions, thanks to all the changes in their presentation.

That would still mean OTHER PEOPLE would think this thing was worth $600+ to get to his max bid.

not if the high bidder inadvertanly typed 666.00 rather than 66.00.. but I doubt it was done that way, I smell a rat.. a big one at that.

I can't imagine anyone thinking the vehicle was worth that much. There are many printing services who would do as good a job for less.

It's a stock vehicle with a clean, neat and uninspired paint job. The swappable weapons are a nice touch.

But still, it's enough for two Gameboard sets!
