We've got "what are you making" threads, "what are you playing" threads and such. So, how about what TV shows can you NOT miss?

You know, that show you need to make sure is being recorded by your DVR or you will kick the cat. That show you have to think hard about skipping (as long as it is recorded) to have sex with your wife/girlfriend/blow up doll. Those shows. Lets just go with top 5 shows you gotta see and why you like it.

Doing this here cause here are people I can relate to. IMDB people scare me.

Top 5 are:

1) Battlestar Galactica (the new one) - Wow. Awesome show all around. Only show that I consider myself obsessed with. I have all of he seasons on DVD and accually pull it out and watch it now and then. Can't wait to see the end of the last season. Have to say when they got to earth I felt that was going to be that way. Not sure what I'm talking about, watch it. Will not ruin it for anyone. Period.

2) Chuck - Good God! That show defines LOL for me. I cannot watch that show and not laugh at what is happening. Chuck and his nerdy-ness charm when dealing with Sarah and the spy situations, classic. There are things that happen that make me think of people that I know in real life. One is there is a character named Morgan and he is getting ready for a Call of Duty game and has the whole multiplayer level mapped out on one big sheet of paper. Has a whole game plan and how they will do it. One great show.

3) Survivor - I know, I know. You either love "Reality TV" or you detest it. Not "real" TV, blah, blah, blah. My list, not yours. I have been watching it since Season 2 and have not missed an episode. All I can say is I want to punch the babies who get on the show and leave. Pansies.

4) Dexter - Ah, nothing like a serial killer with a code for killing "bad guys who escape the system". Just one show that I watch so I can cheer on the psychopath.

5) Lost - I really like this show. I watch it to see what is going to happen next. There were a couple of times that I almost lost my desire to watch it, but it is back on track.

My other show that I like are The Shield, Rescue Me, Fringe, Heroes and a few others.

Anyway, what about you?

I think I'm going to start a charity for the terminally stupid. You can be our spokes person. -- H.B.M.C.

Peep Show is an incredible show we get here in the UK, not sure if you get it over in the US. Well worth checking out.

Enjoy! Also loving BSG. Shame about the strike, but those things happen.

I really should be spending my time more constructively.

I'll second Peep Show. One of the pitifully few comedies Channel 4 put out that is worth watching right now. Sadly gone are the heydays of Spaced, Black Books and Father Ted, replaced in stead with wall to wall Russell Brand, Alan Carr and Justin Lee Collins.

Somewhere in south-central England.

I have to say I hardly ever watch TV except for the news. I watch some DVDs occasionally.

What I am mostly doing for entertainment is reading classic adventure and fantasy fiction. Conan Doyle, Jules Verne, Lovecraft and H. Rider Haggard. It's all free because it's out of copyright.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Dexter, The Mentalist, crossing my fingers for a new Nip Tuck season, and a few anime series (Soul Eater atm) and Star Wars Clone Wars series.

"Star Wars Clone Wars". That's a lot of Wars there.

I'm reading the Gun Seller by "Dr. House" himself. Great fun to read!

"(...) I picked up a glass and a bottle of The Famous Grouse (...) added enough water to turn it into just a Vaguely Familiar Grouse,"

Don't ask why, it made me snort. Other than that, trying to read Industrial Design by Tomas Maldonado, trying to find info on Shiro Kuramata's "How High The Moon", and trying to start a Case Study on the Stamp Watches. And trying to read Heart of Darkness, The Prince, and another book I forgot about.

Yey.

Stand up comedy on the weekends. Mythbusters when there are new shows. If left alone by dogs, kids, wives and relatives then I gravitate to the History/Military Channel and sci fi movies. Loved Jurassic Fight Club.

When I get a chance, Big Bang Theory.

Otherwise, I refuse to schedule my life around television, and we're not paying
sub fees for a Digital Video Recorder.

I do miss watching Conan O' Brien and How I Met Your Mother.

Oh yeah, I like Lost and Ugly Betty, but I can load those on the computer from the
ABC website.

Fringe, Heroes, Venture brothers, Sarah Connor chronicles, CSI, NCIS, Eleventh hour. I DVR all of 'em not so much because of scheduling conflicts but so I can fast forward through the commercials. I'm trying to like Clone Wars, but it's too much of a kids show. I want an hour of Eisenhorn and/or Felix and Gotrek every week!
