i'm staring to paint the models that i have from AOBR, but I'm unsure which primer to use. I'm leaning towards the GW primer, but I'd like to know if there's a cheaper solution that works with mixed metal/plastic models

There are a few brands that do good. Army Painter is one, that I´ve had good experience with.

This thread would be more at home in the normal Painting and modeling forum though...

Anywho, most of the brands carried by hobby stores should be fine, as well as quite a few of the normal brands.

Unless you want to go with trial and error however, I´d stay with hobby store brands.
