Very nicely done. I really dig the chappy particularly.

I do feel, though, that the libby's force weapon is a bit too chunky, even for 40k. A bit of a thinner weapon would have fit better in the hands as well as with the weapon tip.

Are you sculpting each skull by hand on the mini or press molding each? If you're hand sculpting, I'd love to see a tutorial ^_-. Hell, even if you're not, I'd love to see one!

ooh i just thought in that last pic the chaplain was holding his crozius two-handed, y'know like in a 'charging-with-spear' posistion. now that would have been cool.

still love em though

It is perhaps a tad chunky... I was going by what fit neatly in the existing left hand, to save the bother of having the resculpt both hands. I kind of like it that way, though... as more of a ceremonial weapon, used more to focus his powers and look impressive than to actually whack people.

They're all done by hand. I'll add them to the list of "Tutorials to be done when I rediscover the mythical phenomenon called 'free time'"

ace models, but i feel the same as grey, the libs wep does seem a little large.
the captain has to be the best.

a quick Q i missed out:
did you model the rib cages straight on, or did you file down the chest plates 1st?

Shaved off the aquilas first. I ordinarily would have just used the blank Mk7 chestplate, but I already had the Mk6 torsos assembled, as I had originally planned these guys to be a little less 'skullified'. The skulls and bones motif just sort of happened

when I first say these I thought they where legion of the damned charectors.

this looks amazing, the librarian might use some more detail on the staff to help break up the blandness.

these look amazing, a tutorial would be great.

You commission modelers are my heroes, and I'm not kidding. I've always loved modeling, but I'm still not good enough to sell stuff. Nice job man!

I'm totally impressed! I love the Legion of the Damned style these guys have.

Are these for you or a client? Any chance we'll see them painted?

A bit of a range of stuff, depending on what I'm doing. Most of my work is done with a wax carver, an exacto knife and a little sculpting tool that M picked me up for my birthday a few years back when I was just getting started in serious sculpting. But I also use a couple of tools from an old soldering tool set that have handy little picks and points, an old toothbrush, bits of wire, and anything else that looks like it might do whatever it is I'm currently trying to figure out how to do

They're for eBay. So there's a really easy way to see them painted [/shameless plug]

The captain and the chaplain really work for me. Im not too fond of the Librarian though. He looks a wee bit awkward.

I love your bases tho. Those are really awesome.

Those are sweet. Very nice GS'ing. That's where I am trying to get proficient. Before paint...customize. I'm really curious to see any type of walk-through or tutorial on how you do it..when the free time gods grant you a boon that is.

Looking forward to more.
