Hiya, I'm currently converting a model for my Space Marine Army.

The model I am using is a Space Marine Terminator Captain that I am using as a librarian. To this end I have not equiped him with a gun so he will be using his powers as his "weapon" I have removed the stormbolter and also the hand up to the wrist as I wish to replace it with a open hand thats looks like he's aiming and casting a fireball or similar with his hand.

Have not found anything in my marine army that other than a powerfist that is pointing his finger (from an assualt marine sprue), my friend does not have anything in his bitz box either and I really can't look at every single sprue ever made for every army. lol

If anyone knows of where i can buy one, even if it comes as part of a set then please let me know, I really don't want to have to resort to using a powerfist with a pointing finger if I can help it as it wouldn't look right

The right hand is a problem... The missile launcher left hand works well as a generic 'casting a spell' hand, but I can't think of anything for the other side, other than a biker hand with the fingers straightened out a bit.

You may be SOL, bro. In 41M, a Marine's right hand is only good for 3 things. Pulling a trigger, wielding a CCW or pointing. All of which are done much better if you are bald and yelling. ;p

@ Insaniak, hhmmm, I've looked at the left hand of the missile guy and think I could use that once I transfer his thumb to the otherside, but as my modellingabilities aren't that good I'd hate to screw it up lol.

Also, although that could work, it would kinda look the guy is holding up traffic, maybe i could convert his sword into a stop sign

no that hand will look fine. my brothers librarian has that exact same hand "casting a spell" and it looks nice. as far swapping the thumb you have to be careful. go real slow and make sure before you put the thumb on, you completely smooth out the hand so it looks proper. i have swapped thumbs before and if you go to fast it LOOKS like you wapped the thumb lol good luck on that one

how about chopping the left hand of a model and putting it on right arm?

I dunno if that would work great (you may have to show a twist of the wrist by greenstuffing).

Make one out of green stuff. Its the cheapest and most reliable way to get exactly what you want. Sure it will take a little practice put you can keep redoing it until you get it the way you want.

Thanks everyone for your input, my greenstuff skills are non existant so doing something like a hand as my first project might be a bit too difficult for me. But if all else fails I'll give that a go.

I plan to give him a very old style jumppack onto the top of his terminator armour for mostly decorative purposes, making his armour look ornate and ancient. As he can take a transport pysker power I'll make some fluff up about his jumppack being powered by his pysker power. (Though I'll only use the model with player consent and I'll most likely field him on his own anyway)

Once he's all painted up and modelled I'll post a new thread with pics showing the WIP and completede version.
