Just a quick thread to see the caffeine intakes of fellow Dakkalites

Today (pretty average for me), I've had 4 cups of coffee (instant), 1 cup of tea and a can of Dr Pepper. My mates think I consume way too much of the stuff.. I don't think my intake is that unusual.

I'l probably get 3 or 4 cans of relentless or rockstar and drink those tomorrow

I used to go through 3 liters of pepsi a day, but then I decided that I was tired of being either so wired I couldn't think straight or falling asleep standing up, so now I've cut out nearly all my caffeine except for the occasional glass of weak iced tea. I've noticed that my sleep patterns are a bit more predictable but I have the munchies more. I can't win!

When I first got to uni I got addicted to Lucozade, I was drinking 6 bottles a day. I stopped when I ran out of money, but I still love the stuff and drink it whenever possible. I go through phases of drinking pints of tea then drinking none.

x1 cup of tea in the morning
Xyience energy drink x1 can on the way to work
x2 Dr Pepper or Diet Coke
x4 -5 Cups of Coffee

and if I'm working out regularly a fat burner cycle as well.

Per day usually 375ml (a can) or 2, or a 600ml bottle of coke zero.

Tea is saved for trips to relatives houses, or functions/education sessions.

Coffee tastes horrible.

As a guy who drank coca-cola 1.25L-2L minimum per day for 10 years (and once drank 11 litres in a day) I'm right in saying none is best but a mild supply for the addiction is bearable. Just don't drink it in the morning (I usually get cravings about 8.30-9am) or you'll have more in the evening.

I usually drink about three cups of coffee and one tea per day. I don't often drink soft drinks but when I do it's a can of Diet Coke. We have free soft drinks, tea and instant coffee in our office. I prefer to have a real coffee from the in-house cafe.

I agree with you there Killkrazy, instant's just not the same as real coffee.

For soft drinks, I tend to nab whatever's on an offer at the local shop (curse my student "value value value" mentality). I've avoided Diet Coke for the last 3 years, no idea why, but that stuff is positively lethal for my caffeine intake.. :(

I drink about 3 can sized things of coffee. On the weekend its 8 cups per the coffee machine before 1.00PM per day. I loves me some coffee. When you hear about a man toppling a building over that will be having run out of coffee. The HUlk is just your average Joe without coffee.

I used to drink more coffee than now but I stopped when it gave me the jitters.

I drink Earl Grey and Green teas. I do not like coffee and I get a nice buzz from "colas," I think it largely the sugar.

Funny. I always imagined Gonads to be a hardcore coffee freak. The sort who needs like 5-8 cups a day
But that may come from the people I know at the local store.

I'm with you on that. Coffee drinkers can be a scary bunch, IMO. Starbucks has too many of them flat-out addicted. The caffeine content in soda is just the right level for me.

My wife used to ride that coffee roller-coaster all day every day. When she got pregnant, she gave it up. Now she only has the occasional cup of decaf and feels better for it.

I average 2 pots a day.

And I can still hold my brushes without shakes.

Althought the withdrawl headaches are brutal when I don't get any caffine. But that's the price for having a hot, black, bitter misstress.

My first additional duty/job in the AF when I arrived in the UK (after getting my initial training) was making coffee. The Boss walked my over to this rather large silver urn (holds roughly 50 cups) and said you make two of these first thing when you get on shift. So before I relieved the guy I was taking over for I made two urns worth (100 cups of very very strong) coffee and then made my own small 15 cup pot in my work area.

I ended up at one point drinking the x4 large 64 oz Big Gulp coffee cup on a 9 - 10 hour shift. That was augmentted with about 6 cans of Dr. Pepper.

So my intake has come down considerably.

When I was a teenager and sometimes during college I put away mountain dew like it was water. I could drink it right before bed.

I gradually weaned myself off it, but at my current company I managed to become a coffee drinker. A 24 hour rotating schedule will do that. Nowadays I'm a supervisor, so I have to be available 24hrs by phone but don't have to stay up all night. I have to be in the office early 5 days a week, though, and that one cup when I first get into the office is a big help. Sometimes I have a second later in the day, but generally not. It's better this way.

The only time I have a tendency to overdo it is on biweekly D&D Sundays, when I drink beer and whatever soda is on offer- which is usually caffeinated stuff. I get pretty high.
