Well dakka, there has been a lot o Eldar on the boards lately, and seeing how I was revisiting some nostalgic units I thought I might post these to (hopefully) inspire. I will post a little commentary on each one. This unit is one of 2 I did for a Harlequin army, the unifying theme was suppose to be "HOT" colors (red colors are hot, blue are cold). The idea was essentrially to still have rainbow colors generally but have the 2 units be distinguishable even still, and even if they mixed, so generally all the hot ones are in one unit and all the cold ones in the other, this is just my hot unit. If this is well received I will post the other cold unit in another thread.
Finally, grab these images now, if you want them, as I may not be able to have them up indefinitely!
Let the show begin!

The first model is theHot Troupe Leader!
I optimized him to carry one of the squads fusion pistols as he is usually one of the last to go and keeping the pistol around is important. He was also the test concept piece for all the Harlequins that followed.
After this model' success I decided to do diamonds on bodysuits and solid colors generally everywhere else for a nice classic look.
Colors can be hard to come by, so many times I pick themes for Holidays or characters I know. Oddly, this is Ronald McDonald, (sort of).

This next Model was actually number 3 to be painted and is the Hot Troupe Shadow Seer! This model became affectionately known as the death bunny for the pink coloring and hearts after eating some of my buddies models in test games we did back in 4th ed.
This is one of my favorite models in all those I ever did, the wings I used to represent the Viel of Tears, I figured it should essentially be a man portable holofield generator like the Eldar tanks have, so I made a fitting looking back pack to match that concept!

The next mini is the mighty Deathjester, who actually never got much action despite being in a lot of games, I think he fired once maybe...
I don't recall what order he was painted in, just that I did him in the first half and that, because he doesnt have as much exposed spandex catsuit I decided to move the diamonds onto the jacket to keep them prominent, I went with a minty color for maximal contrast with the red, I think its kind of garish, ina good way if that's possible.

Finally on to the regular troopers, this may be my single favorite Harlequin I have ever done. It's simple theme was to be the one eyed jack in the deck of Hoyle Playing Cards!
The death mask and the red and would prove to be a powerful one eyed combination indeed:
One Eyed Jaquilen?

For no particular reason I put this one in next, it is my least favorite one, it was done as the very last hot one, and was essentially suppose to be neon and maroon, the green looked a bit odd, and this model tended to die a lot in the first blood, mayhap some of you will like it better than I do.

Ahh, this next one is a queen, one of the earlier paint jobs, and a real accidental success. The conversion was actually one of the last ones built from a harlequin who needed an arm, which came from the bits box in the form of a banshee armored fighting blade.
The metal was done with some clear glazes while the rest was shaded for a very nice Spartan Color theme!

This one is very fitting given the season, the theme of the colors being Halloween! My other experiment with green in the hot unit which worked out a bit better!
Painted in the second half with a strong theme.
The Hollow!

So, I hope you all enjoyed our little trip into silly land, I'd like to close with a poem:
At first they all bounded around,
but they ended up stacked in a mound!
Going to war,
To much a Chore,
When dressed like a Mardi Gras Clown!

Your models look great, the all seem to be flying
If i met them in battle, i'm sure I would be dieing
Their colors are bold, bright and brave

Thanks guys woo hoo! Love the poetic nature of this thread!
Yea the diamonds were a supreme pain, but I think it's what makes Harlis look right. I always thought patchwork or strait lines or plain solids was a cop out. Each one was a few hours.

First off, fantastic job on these guys. I absolutely suck at anything freehand so I applaud the job you've managed to do with the diamond pattern.
However, I do think the lack of a neutral 'lining' color in between the diamonds makes the pattern not look quite as clean on the models you painted with the darker shades, like with the 'neon spaz' for example.
But overall they do look very sharp, especially the models with the lighter shades, like the 'queen of sparta'.
Finally, why are you not attaching your pictures to the post instead of direct linking them? That way we'd be hosting your images forever and you wouldn't have to worry about your posts just being filled with red 'x's in years to come. These are exactly the kind of images we really want to host!
