ugh, i really want to use green stuff for some conversions but i aint got the skills. can anyone give me some good tips?

what sort of work are you doing?
once i know that i can give you some advice, but GS in general is a fairly large topic to cover.

um. . .i was looking at putting a cloak on an IG

ok, as the way sculpting tools go you would be best with a round headed impliment.
(anything with a smooth rounded tip on it will do)

you will need something to protect the surface your working on.
you will need to make the surface wet (stops the GS sticking)
smooth out the greenstuff on the surface untill its all an even thickness.
get a good idea of the size needed and cut a piece to the size and shape needed.
adding wrinkles into the cloak is easy, make sure your wearing thin rubber gloves that are damp (stops it sticking and laving finger prints)
then simply bend the GS to add creaces into the cloak.
you can add it to the model and then add more wrinkles and creaces and re-pose it if needed.

a few notes: the thinner the GS the more likely it is that it will move and go out of shape, propping it up with something works well.

thin rubber gloves will prevent any finger prints being left on the GS.

make sure that anything that will be comming into contact with the GS is wet (dip it in a cup of water) as it stops the item sticking to the GS.


thats just what i have picked up, and if you need an example of a model ive done it to i have a badrukk thread up that ive made a jacket for.
and this is pretty much GS basics, im not the best teacher as i tend to just get on with things rather than think about how ive done them.
