Was just thinking up some new rules for apocalypse and came up with this i dont know if some like it has already been done but here goes:

Obliterator Coven:

+150pts + Cost of Models

1 Chaos Sorcerer

3 - 5 Squads of Obliterators

Special Rules:

Focus Fire: All the Obliterators part of the coven can focus thier firepower on one unite either firing lascannons or heavy bolters, the sorcerer part of this unit may not make any other shooting attack as he is guiding the obliterators aim to focus on the chosen target:

Lascannon: All obliterators fire thier lascannons at a target it follows these rules: it is a BS5 Shot that is 60" Range Str 10 Ap1 and if it penetrates on a super heavy vehicle, it by passes any void shields and instead of rolling on the damage table the shot automatically causes D2 Structure points of damage onto the vehicle

Heavy Bolter: All obliterators fire their heavy bolters at the target: the shot is worked out as a Vulcan Mega Bolter

This ability cannot be used if thier are fewer than 5 obliterators in the coven, this ability cannot be used if the sorcerer leading them dies

so what do you think, is it too overpowered are the points costs what they should be?

I like the heavy bolter option, less sure, of the Lascannon, is their a titan-scale weapon you could have that mimic as well, rather then random new rules?

hmm, prehaps treat the shot as a turbo laser instead then? would make sense however i came up with the bypassing void shield ability as the shot is simply too focused for the shields to be of any use as when it hits it just smashes through that part of the shields, still this was just a thought i had to encorporate obliterators into apocalypse in a special way as playing iron warriors..i love em

Belgium, political ass-end of the old continent

I would leave the shield-bypassing out of it... Just sounds too nasty, and where things like turbolaser-destructors and plasba blastguns fail, a couple of lascannons succeed? Sounds weedy to me... Just my two credits...

I can bend minds with my spoon...

Indeed, Void Shields regularly shrug off Star-ship scale weapons, some coordinated fire from what ammout to being bazookas ought not to ignore them.

I don't understand. Are Obliterators not good enough or popular enough that they need an extra Special Rule in Apocalypse to be worth taking? Or is there some kind of Fluff thing that I'm not aware of?

As far as special rules go, let all of the Obliterator fire ignore cover.

1) oblits no longer have heavy bolters

2) there already is an oblit formation, and it sucks. You can combine 9 into one D weapon that ROLLS TO HIT, not even a blast weapon ><.

ah crap, my bad they did lose their heavy bolters,

going to have to rethink this one, as i wasn't aware of them already having said formation tbf that does suck rather badly

i think John might be on to something there, but with the oblits already having their own formation i guess this ones not really required at all
