Ive Started collecting Tallarn Desert Raiders but all ive got is the snipers from Forge World (Below) there the pictures from the website because i cant get my pics on. But at my local store they dont sell tallarn any more and i cant order of the GW website so any 1 got any conversion ideas to make normal IG Cadians into Tallarn Soldiers.
And any conversion idea to make a commissar into a tallarn style one.

you cant order form the site? whys that, as they are listed under collecters.

Thanks but i dont like the GW Tallarn you cant change poses and they all look the same.

true, well the other thing to do then is use green stuff to make the head gear robes on the troops, and you can proberly do the same with the commisar (depending on which figure yuor useing) and add robes and the like to him

But i dont know which heads to use for them.

Try this: ***fiddly as hell alert***

out of very small pieces of cloth/card/clay (its just thin squares, about the easiest thing in the world to make) make rectangles about 3 times as long as wide, but about 3 times as wide as a human figures head..

Seperately, find something that can scale for ribbon/rope, such as copper electrical wiring or maybe tooth floss.

Glue the squares onto the (bare unhelmeted) human heads. It doesn't matter if the front 'bunches up' in the middle.

Wait until it dries. Try to tie the ribbon material so that it forms to long tails either side of the knot. Make sure you make the hole in the loop big enough to put over the head+cloth.

Glue it on, and you should have something that looks like the 'Laurence of Arabia' look.

As a long time Tallarn player I first have to question why you are starting Tallarns if you don't like their models...

The old metals look amazing IMO, and are supplemented quite nicely by a few Forgeworld pieces.

You are not likely to find an easy way to convert Cadians as the only way to get them to look like Desert Raiders is with extensive Green stuff work, as Cadian look nothing like Desert Raiders...

It might be best for you, if you just play Cadians and paint them Desert colours.

yeah, i am also a long time tallarn player, and those are some of the best metals thy made, an in 7 different poses. As for commissars, no matter what planet or regiment they are sent to, all commissars look the same...as far as i've seen...

i need to saveup some cash and get those FW tallarn figs myself to finish my army...

while were on tallarn subject, what fig do you use for the flamer, since they never made one for the tallarns? i have been using 2 old necromunda house orlock flamers...they kinda look right...

I have an IG army using Tallarn models, and there are something like a dozen poses for infantry.

They're good stuff, and I'd encourage you to get them. But if you can sculpt, go for it!.
