I actually gasped out loud at how cool that thing is!
How do you paint them? Is it alot of work or can you "cheat" and go with mostly black and gloss?

Hehe they're so easy to do  spray black, lightly drybrush spacewolf gray all over for the highlights, then do the same with mithril silver, and make it a little heavier on the tallons and stuff, then just spray it with gloss varnish and you're done

They look pretty sweet, especially considering the paintjob's simplicity.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

Which parts are greenstuff? I can tell that the crown of the head is because it's smooth, and that looks really slick.

It's really just the heads that are greenstuff. It's easy, I just squish it over the eyes and smooth it out. But for the long heads like for warriors, i cut off all the shells on the heads. The only one I really sculpted was the queen head.
I thought about an egg laying queen before as an objective but never got around to making it. Some day if I ever take the time to learn how to make resin molds I may try and mold the queen head then it'll be easier to make other conversions like that

try using the old style poly cement (the stuff that comes in metal tubes). apply with a cocktail stick
also saw a model with drool & he used a cat hair covered in several coats of varnish.
for the queen's head try looking at modifying the techniques used at scibbor
awesome work!
will have to do mine like that too now!

 AMAZING. i love alien and aliens (best not mention the other 2) and these are just awesome. you could maybe make a ripley as an objective, or maybe make the crews of the nostromo and the aliens crew as a small guard platoon. that would be cool

I had originally planned to have my guard army be based on the guys from Aliens but when I found out how many guys I'd have to convert for a normal sized army I changed my mind
I also planned to make rippers be the facehuggers but never got around to making them, and never found a good model to base it on.. so the few rippers I made ended up being baby aliens. I could probably do some guardsmen with huggers on their faces for objectives.
