I wouldn't mind making another queen.. or doing a conversion as a norn queen with the big egg sac and all that stuff.. so I could make a mold of that head I already made .. i could even make casts of it for folks that might want one

you used to be able to get a plastic swarms box set and i think the legs from the plastic spider would be ideal for this conversion! stick 'em on a ripper and away you go....

These are very cool like all the other alienids.

Face huggers on some IG would be fantastic objective markers. I may have to swipe that idea (maybe make one for various races so any opponent has an objective they can relate too).

Forget a Zoanthrope, use the Tyrant head from the previous version of the fig. It's a straight up Xenomorph Queen head with nearly zero conversion work required.

Also, do you do anything special to get that kind of sleek black? Or is it a simple black with high high high gloss finish?

It's black with very very light drybrushing of space wolf gray followed by mithril silver. It's just to pick out the highlights and give a little more of a sparkle to the flat areas. Then the high gloss to finish the job. I use a krylon clear gloss spray, it's shinier than the old testors stuff I used to use. I can see my reflection sometimes in fact you can kinda see me taking the pic in the 2nd clawfex pic
