question:

in the rulebook it says that you have to take a pinning test for every pinning weapon that wounds a unit(sumthing like that). that means that if your sniper rifle scouts score 3 wounds the target unit needs to take 3 pinning tests. is this true??

Nope. Only a single Pinning Test is required, regardless of the number of wounds taken.

However, if two seperate units force these tests on a single target, then it takes two tests.

aah but what if one squad uses two different pinning weapons,
e.g. sniper rifle + telion's special bolter, does that make two tests or one?

probably only one. I think we've done this discussions before.

Only one per unit using pinning weapons of any stripe.

As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake;
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

Each time a unit suffers casualties caused by Pinning weapons from a given enemy unit, it has to test.

So if you lose three guys to shooting from a single enemy unit using Pinning weapons, that's one test.

If you lose one guy each to three different enemy units using Pinning weapons, there's a test each time.
