By using a Deamonhunters Heavy Support choice of an orbital strike do I give my opponent an automatic kill point? I'm assuming no as the strike is not a "unit" that can be destroyed, but wanted to double check.

Was the Orbital Strike Immoblized or Destroyed?

No unit hits the table or is lost when you do this. No kill points are given.

This is unlike Nids who drop sporemines (which are units) and these actively move around the table and give KPs when they "die"

To represent the other side of the argument, is the Orbital Bombardment on the table at the end of the game....................????

Is the Orbital Strike "A Unit?"

If not, no KP.

I'd classify it as a "selection" that does not count as a unit.

Similar to a combi-weapon. When you use the one-shot special, it's still a combi-weapon, it's just not special anymore.

A unit being off the table at the end of the game is not a qualification for giving up a Kill Point, BTW.

Per the rules, a unit that falls back off the table during the game (pg45) or is falling back at the end of the game (pg90) counts as being destroyed but otherwise units that are off the table at the end of the game are not destroyed. That was a 4th edition thing.

Please note - terms like 'always/never' are carried with the basic understanding that there are exceptions to the rule, and therefore are used to mean generally...

i would say that its not a unit, it does not give up kill points, and at the same time if in order to get the bonus points in a tournament you have to kill all your opponents heavy choice, you would not be penalized for not destroying it, since you can't kill it.

in the hardboyz tourny, it was ruled that way when I encountered the issue.
