I have a small (well not so small now, just picked up the rapid insertion and armored interdiction force on ebay that hsould be here soon) Tau army that I had started painting.

I went with a Scab Red/Adeptus Battlegray color scheme. Unfortunately I'm just finding that I'm not happy with it after painting up one devilfish, a small squad of firewarriors, Shaos'o Rymr and a couple of pathfinders. The scab red just looks very dull once hit with the varnish.

I actually acquired a nice stockpile of midnight blue that I was going to use to start over.

I need to strip the models I already have before that, though. I've got a combination of plastic, metal, and the one resin forgeworld model, along with one battlesuit that was matt varnished. Will the castrol superclean stuff work safely and effectively on all of them?

metal model are tough as nails, castrol should not harm them.

I haven't try castrol on platic nor on resin...

There are several threads about stripping, so do a search.

Brush restorer is effective on metals but will dissolve plastic. Simple Green seems to be good on plastic -- I haven't tried it myself.

Simple Green.
Let it soak for a day or three and then scrub with an old toothbrush. Use some cheap dental tools to clean out the deep crevices (and they double as sculpting tools).

I had searched the FAQ and some of the stripping threads. One thing I didn't find was anything on my lone Resin mini. Is what is safe for plastic safe for resin?

Edit: Also, the two color schemes I have just for opinions
