Ok, here's my idea, without any models or such, but the more I think about it the more I like it:

Demon's Theatre

On the world of Katharsis, as close to the EoT as possible, the Terran-born planetary governor is a huge fan of operas and theatre plays.
He hears voices that tell him to build the largest dome/stadium/theatre ever known among human kind. Slaanesh gives him visions of
audiences of millions of people willing to see his show. For a long time the governor gathers the universe's best actors, singers, puppeteers and playwriters.
Then, finally the day of the first play has come and because Tzeentch twisted the minds of the people, there are indeed millions coming to the great theatre of
the capital city of Katharsis. But over the days, noone who is going off to see the show returns to his home.
One day, when the planet notes rapidly decreasing population, an Imperial Watch Committee is sent to Katharsis. But even these Officers do not return to their fleet. The last log entry of one of the men only displays weird dancing creatures and manic laughter of a mighty man.
When an Astartes Strike Force is landing in the capital of Katharsis, they see not one human being in the streets. Instead, following a gigantic light column roaring up in the sky from the theatre dome, they find the following monstrosities, drawing their power from the millions of lives they took from the planets population:


The Pupeteer
The governor of Katharsis became a twisted freak and a minion of Slaanesh and Tzeentch. Hiding in a black cloak and behind a white mask of bones, he is floating in the air commanding an enormous dragon , that looks like being made out of wood, through warp-infested wires.
Ruleswise: Either a demon prince with wings or a bloodthirster

The actors
The actors are no longer humans, but transformed into something like these:

They are either unarmed or armed with clubs or knives.
Ruleswise: basic troop choices, either Bloodletters or Demonettes

Minor Puppeteers
The minor puppeteers once were the best of their kind, but now they are mindless killing machines. Robed men with weird hats and masks use warp sorcery to lead little armies of armed puppets into the battle.
Ruleswise: Blue Scribes or Nurglings

The governor's orchestra
Men and women playing their deadly music to whoever is listening.
Ruleswise: Flamers, Horrors

The Flying
The flying are artists that now use their acrobatic abilities to take out enemies before they know what attacks them.
Ruleswise: Screamers of Tzeentch, Mounted Demonettes

Very cool idea! You might want to check out this as well. It's unofficial but cool nonetheless, it's about a minor Chaos God known as Ghaezun, the whole music thing you have seems to fit nicely with this figure as well.

Thoroughly intriguing concept.
Seems as though you should field the Masque in there.

And/or you could try converting some harlequins, mixing in daemonette bits.

Perhaps an "orchestra" (modeled as musicians with horns, etc.) played as flamers?

As far as what rules you'll be using: for troops, bloodletters don't seem to fit too well with the concept. Still, if you want the army to play with that style. Daemonettes feel right. Or maybe plaguebearers (audience members?)

The puppeteer seems like a very Tzeentchian concept. Have you considered using either the Lord of Change or Fateweaver rules for him?

And you could have a Herald of Tz as a dramaturg....

I love this idea.

i love the idea of a every battle they go into is some demented play or performance they take part in. love the idea. il keep updated on this.

Yep, I wanted to use the Masque-rules for a dramaturg or some minor HQ unit

But I like your other ideas, I even had some of those myself Great minds think alike

I also thought of including (and converting of course) the nurgly coach from the Mortheim Chaos range as chariot...or would that be too absurd/WhFB ?

I gotta say, I really like this idea too. All in all, I find the daemons codex seems to serve more as an excuse for a cool "counts as" army than the things in the book. All in all, I don't think that is a bad thing though

You need to model a Calliope of Chaos for this. Treat it as a soulgrinder.

honestly your idea could make a really bad ass 40k movie or book. and that chariot would look sweet with like organ pipes sticking out of the top. im really waiting to see your ideas come to life

yes you can use virtually anything warhammer fantasy battle chariot. maybe use a corpse cart as a chariot carrying lotsa dummies.

Test model does indeed look admirably creepy.

I'd make the sword take the place of the hand, since dolls can't grip things. Make "blood letters" with sword hands, and "daemonettes" thinner with hook hands, perhaps in dancing poses.

If you want, take the nurgle coach and make it 40k by steam powering it, or pulled by cybernetic horses. I'd think it'd make a great (if oversized) palanquin.

This looks very promising, and am gonna keep up the praise for the test dummy so you have some good motivation to keep this thread alive!

It's just a little cut-down WhFB Zombie model with GS around it. Actually producing these goes really fast.

That looks fantastic! I agree with replacing the hand with just the weapon. but looks good either way.

I can see a Keeper of Secrets holding up a skull and saying, "Alas, poor Yarrick! I knew him, Horatio..."

Really love the concept. The model is outstanding in its "void-ness". Really want to see a whole squad of them.
