Ridin' on a Snotling Pump Wagon

Right, tonight I wheel out my army of nutters for their 4th outing.

So far, they have flattened Dwarfs, shown Daemons what for, and had a bit of a spanking off of Chaos Warriors. But tonight, I face not only a Dark Elf army, but a Dark Elf Army under the control of an extremely good player.

And so I have been contemplating my plan of attack for the past couple of days. Normally, I adopt the right and proper Orcy tactic of 'run at them as fast as we can and kick their zogging heads in'. On one hand, this will work a treat, as they are only pansy Elves, and I will be frankly shocked if their units can stand up to Savage Orc Boyz, let alone the Big'uns. I roll so many attacks it's hilarious, and when combat is met, I don't seem to have any problems. But these guys...they have lots of shooting. Repeater Crossbows and Bolt Throwers worry me to a smaller degree than normal, as being entirely Frenzied, panic is not going to be a problem for me until the Boyz have been duffed up in combat. But.....

He uses Assassins. I've never fought against a new book Dark Elf Assassin. Overall, I'm not *terribly* worried by them. My plan is to simply challenge my way out of trouble with the unit Boss. 4 S5 attacks ought to worry them quite a lot, as should he fluff his attacks, the Assassin is looking a right kicking square in the eye. This will of course prevent the Assassin taking out my front rank, which ought to allow the Boyz their chance to shine.

But then, he has a unit of Shades, and a unit of Harpies. Sure, these pansiest of the pansy will bounce off any of my units, but it's more the baiting I am worried about. So far, I've suffered from it quite a lot at the hands of bloody Chaos Hounds!

His Hydra, bizarrely, is barely a threat to me. Savage Orc Warboss, on a Wyvern, Collar of Zorga. Go on. Hit me on a 6! After that I should be able to panel them quite effectively. I normally field him with Shaga's Screamin' Sword, but I fear it will be rather wasted, unless as I suspect, Assassin, despite not being taken from Hero or Lord options, count as Characters as well. Perhaps I shall go with the Akrit Axe, to get the re-roll. Or perhaps not. I think Guzzla's Battlebrew, which can give me Hatred is worth a look.

What to do, what to do? I've not faced a challenge like this in some time, and I just hope my plans work! (and they will, if I can roll up Waaaagh! twice for my spells)
