It's been bloody ages since any new content was added on the SC2 site. I see this game going the same way as SC: Ghost i.e. there was loads of hype, then Blizzard decided WoW was more important and ditched it.
It's probably only a matter of time before Blizzard says that the game, like Ghost, is 'too buggy' to be released and it's 'on hold indefinitely'. Way to ruin a series you spankers.

nah it's coming. Ghost was experimental/ stupid right from the start. ONLY ON CONSOLES.
Starcraft 2 is in beta in Korea. Or something like that. Professional players are in on the design.
Completely different buckets of apples and tins of oranges.

Ghost had the potential to be awesome; it would have shown a whole new perspective of the SC universe. It's what WoW attempted to do, but it just lets players ruin the canon of that universe.
And if SC2 IS released, then it will be delayed countless times, or released all buggy so that we have to download MORE huge patches. Damn sadists...
And if Diablo III is subscription-based, I'm burning down their studios.

There have been some pretty major announcements recently regarding Starcraft II, you should do a search of the web to read about 'em.
Basically, they've confirmed that Starcraft II will be released as 3 separate games eventually, one for each race in the game.
The first one to be released is supposedly the humans.

An even worse idea, making us pay for three separate games. Here in Oz a game from a company like Blizzard *cough*Diablo2*cough* costs between $80-$100 initially, and stays that way for a long time.

This sounds more like Half-life 2 pricing to me, whatever that is. In Canada Half-life 2 was $60 to start and soon dropped to $40, followed by assorted deals on Steam.

WoW obviously made a great games brand into a pack of money-grabbing louts. Another reason to hate WoW.
Blizzard can subscribe to my middle finger.

Wow... any basis for that invective, or just general bitterness?
SC2 is coming, D3 is coming; neither are pay-to-play. Both look to be really good games... kinda like Blizzard has always made.
|
As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.
But there's no sense crying over every mistake;

Am I the only one that wasnt really impressed with the scale of SC2 and the overall graphics? It just seems like they modded the origional Sc with the Warcraft 3 engine.
Hell just think how cool the game would be if they made it on the same scale as Supreme Commander! You could have a real Zerg Horde in the thousands comming at you! And the damn nukes would actually be destructive on a large scale instead of haveing the payload of a cruise missle from what ive seen in videos.

I#m looking forward to StarCraft 2. Not that it would work on my old PC, but I'm looking forward to it.
And Ghost looked awesome the minute I saw the first trailer. I have no idea how they could've screwed that one up
Also: I want Warcraft Adventures...

I actually got to play a demo of SC: Ghost, which makes it's cancellation all that much stranger.

D3 may have subscription fees, but that is the future of PC gaming. And really gaming in general.
Its pretty much the only way to get around piracy without SECUROM and their ilk.

Not really. None of the new FPS, RTS, or any other games I've bought recently have subscriptions. The only subscription games I've played are MMOs.

SC2 will not be going away if thats your worry. They are handing out beta keys as we speak. They are also broadcasting live SC2 matches 24/7 on one of the four Starcraft only tv channels in Korea featuring the latest builds of the game and the Pro SC players (Koreans of course). My friend got his beta key 2 weeks ago, but that beta doesn't start for a few more months yet.

Four? Really? That doesn't seem a tad excessive/obsessive to anyone else? Also, a little sad and soul crushing.

Yeah, in germany we only have one channel which dedicates only half of it's time to gaming and 50% of that is WoW
I want a 24/7 Starcraft channel.

All we have in America is G4. I don't think I could honestly watch people playing a game on TV. I tried watching Arena and the Video Game Championships for Halo 2, but grow very bored very quickly. I'd rather just PLAY the game.

I HATE and DESPISE G4. I will never forgive them for devouring and then crapping out into a blender what had been one of the greatest channels ever, TechTV.

The only time I'll actually touch G4 is the occasional movie and the Gadget Pron section of Attack of the Show(ample use of the Last Channel button FTW). I miss Tech TV.

It's sad that G4 still manages to be one of the best channels on TV.
Even if it did destroy TechTV, it's still...well....better than mostly anything else on cable. Besides Comedy Central. Sure, it only talks about videogames about an hour out of every day, but it plays some great movies (Fight Club, Legend of Drunken Master, etc.), and Ninja Warrior is entertaining.

Unfortunately, they show Fight Club and Tron so much I can't enjoy them anymore because I've seen them so many times in close succession they've been robbed of any good or value.
