Which would you say is better for a canifex given the new 5th edition rules.

A twin-linked deathspitter would be 2 blast markers at Str. 7 that are on the field every time, now that you don't have to roll to hit anymore. On top of that doesn't having a twin linked blast weapon give you some sort of special option? Like rerolling the scatterdice?

I know everyone likes to take the twin-linked devourer and rightfully so but am I incorrect in thinking that 2 deathspitters is better then 2 devourers?

What about on raveners? Again aren't the deathspitters better because of the new blast rules?

I think it depends. Against hordes I would suggest deathspitters, or even against Tau/IG infantry gunlines because you'll instant death a lot of them.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

on raveners...not sure. I personally like the idea of 6 shots EACH, but I gotta say i dont like raveners much cos they are very expensive. And remember blasts only land on target 1/3 of the time and might scatter wildly. A devourer on the other hand has many shots (and on the fex can reroll hits) that reroll to wound.

Rerolls for dice mean you reroll the scatter and the 2d6.

Spitters were crap in 4th Ed but are well worth considering in 5th, especially as they are also longer range. I'd tend to go with Spitters for a 'sit back and shoot' fex (the Barbed Strangler and Death Spitter combo is quite nice), but Devourers for a fex more likely to get into close combat

A twin-linked Deathspitter is not two blast markers at S7. It is one blast marker at S7 with a re-roll to hit.

yes but 2 twin-linked deathspitters does have 2 blasts, resolved one after the other... I think thats what he meant seeing as the carnifex can have 2.

i like the fact that you can fit a fex with 2 twin linked deathspitter and still have him be under the magic 115 points to be considered an elite. I'm going to be trying them out in my next nid list. hopefully they'll pan out better. I think the 24" of range will be what decides it for me.

Neither, take a Barbed Strangler as your first option on a Carnifex.

For Ravenors, I think that a deathspitter is probably better, but I'm not sure it is worth it to buy the weapon upgrade.
