I'd say for making normal IG DKoK, GS and PigIron are your friends

do you think these heads would suite them best ? http://www.pig-iron-productions.com/hd_2_window.htm
i was thinking of making them into a kind of DKOK storm troopers and all in all make it into a diorama of the choppers flying overheads with the miniguns rattling away killing off Orks
and also i was thinking of the blackhawk been scaled of 1/35 or is taht too big do you recon ?

I think the scale depends, death korp might get away with 1/48 scale models as they are fairly small themselves, however if you use cadians or plastics combined with other metal heads i think you will be better off with 1/35, will look a better scale to the models in my opinion anyway.

While 1/48 is probably as close as you will get to 28mm scale (though 1/56th is almost a perfect match but look tiny when you put them next to anything but historical figures), i think the nature and of 40k and the fact everything seems a bit chunky and over sized 1/35 models are always a good starting point.

Cadian heads for the pilot and co pilot would look pretty cool, they look a bit top gun anyway, and if they're behind a screen then they don't need the gas masks/rebreathers that the DKoK dudes wear.

If everyone followed this logic, there wouldn't be a whole lot of converting in the model world, now would there?

Hope to see some pics soon... I think if you put enough effort into '40king' up the 'Hawk this project should work well.

Now you didn't, you very specifically asked "what is a blackhawk". Though since you lacked any punctuation, it might have been a wierdly worded rhetorical statement I suppose.

How are you planning on integrating the Cadians with your DC? I am thinking the PI heads and GS will work, especially if you extend the bottom of the Cadian frock coats down, leaving their armor on the outside of the jacket, as if they put it on over top.

Still, John might have a point that it will be very difficult to keep the Blackhawk Down look AND the Death Corps look too. A Valk' being down with the appropriate themes would be plenty cool in my book
