Hi all,
I'm working on my Blood Angels, and I'm kinda stumped on how to color some of the accessories... I already decided to make the frag grenades standard army OD to play off the BA red armor, but I want to paint the krak grenades something else and can't decide... it seems like everywhere I look they're silver, but that seems kinda bland for some reason... especially on assault marines already dominated int the torso area by greys for the JP straps. I've also got a meltabomb on the sarge and am miffed... it seems like it should be red, but that won't stand out against the armor, and I'm already doing the helmets and some of the weapons yellow... just looking for ideas and curious how some of the marine painters here handle their 'nades.

You could also use the standard OD grenade with yellow banding to differentiate it.

Huh... both of those ideas are pretty sweet actually... I like the real HE look, but I figure the red will blend in... if I combine the two ideas tho

OD green, with yellow banding is actually how i did my blood angels... with a LIGHT drybrush of silver over to the ends of the grenade, and a brown wash. high lighted with a few drops of OD green with like half a drop of white in it.

sure it's 5 colors... on a grenade... but... we want it to look nice right?

Absolutely, pretty grenades and guns are THE reason to play this game. We want to look cool while firing ineffectually and running forward to get stuck in.

or in the case of blood angels... assaulting... massacre... all bunched up for an easy pie plate to the face.

but... holy we look good doing it.

and at any rate... the way i see it... if the mini looks better than your dice rolls... you get 5 objectives or 7 KP anyway.
