I bought a box of Devs partly because it includes spare weapons which I thought I could use for my vehicle conversion projects.

Sadly, the weapons are all moulded with arms on, requiring a lot of carving if they are to be fitted to vehicles. They also attach to special backpacks of which there are only four in the box.

Has anyone tried using the spare weapons with standard Tactical Marine models? What did you do about the backpacks?

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

You're referring to the newer box with plastics, yes? If so, each weapon has a matching backpack and they fit Tac marines fine(same kits, different weapon/arm sprues).

Don't even bother trying to use the Devi weapons on tanks, they look too weedy. an portable lascannons are a lot smaller than even a sponson mounted lascannon.

Like PLatuan4th and nidsmaster stated, the weapons (and their corresponding backpacks) fit perfectly on all marine bodies, so make some more Devi squads

Thanks guys.

You're quite right. There are eight heavy weapons and eight matching backpacks in the box.

I've seen an awesome conversion of a Tech Marine on a bike with a Conversion Beamer based off of Devastator parts...

Have at it!

What guns are in the box? I didn't know it had more than just the four pictured.

Two of each: Lascannon, Heavy Bolter and Plasma cannon.
One of each: Missile launcher and Multimelta.

Bunch of other stuff as well, like power fist for sgt. Missile backpack has a servo arm on it for loading the launcher.

Whoa. I had no idea that the Dev squad box had 2 lascannons, 2 heavy bolters, 2 plasma cannons, and a launcher and Multi-melta in it. I thought it was just one weapon of each as pictured on the box. This is news to me. That's actually a decent buy, I might have to pick it up. Thanks for that, gents!
