That chart is a little biased. For example, you don't need an HDMI cable for the xbox, the component cables work just fine (so that's $50 off the xbox cost). Also, wireless is also optional (I don't use one), so that's another $100 off.
Really, what you want to look at is which one provides the better entertainment experience. For me, it's the xbox with it's huge, varied games library and especially now that I can stream Netflix through the interface. I've debated getting a PS3 as basically a blu-ray player but I'm really not convinced that blu-ray isn't going to die off in favor of streaming HD movies.

I'm not posting about the chart. I'm posting because the system (and games) I wanted
could now be 150 dollars closer.
I'm still looking to see if there's a problem with the deal.

People have been doing this for a while. There's a thread on the SA coupons forum about signing up for a similar deal, the SonyStyle credit card, and receiving $100 off your first Sony purchase. But yeah this is even better.

I think the biggest dealbreaker for me re PS3 is that although the old region coded dvd issue is more-or-less dead with BD, PS3 is region locked for DVDs.
Half of my library is imported dvds. R1 & R2. The remainder is R4. ALL of my dvd players play them - even my PS2. If I buy a PS3, it won't.
This alone is enough to stop me 'upgrading'.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.
That is not dead which can eternal lie ...
... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

I have a PS2, the first console I bought since... my parents got me a Genesis (we call it a Mega Drive in Oz). ...Basically because I'm a desktop twitch junkie. Not so much in past twelve months... The PS2 was just for Guilty Gear/Tekken/KOF. The PS3 is win to me because you can run Linux distros on it, but PCs are still better. EDIT: I had a DS, but I spilled a bottle of wine on it and let that stand overnight before realising. Miraculously it still worked. Several months later I splashed a teeny bit of lemonade onto it and BAM! It was dead.

Region locks are hardly dealbreakers. Just use your other DVD players, then.
A PS3 is a GAMING CONSOLE. It has a 7-series NvIdiot equivalent card.
Reminds me of people who bought Xboxes, dvd remotes, then sold their games and controllers. DVD players are as cheap as dirt.

The PS3 isn't just a gaming console. It's one of the better Blu-Ray players on the market as well.
I will hold off getting one until the price comes down or God of War III comes out - which ever happens first.

The PS3 Dealbreaker?
The MGS4 Bundle that has PS2 compatability and a Dualshock 3 Controller.
Enough said.
