Hey Fellas. I just finished putting up the Baltimore GT Coverage, including some cool armies seen at the event. Check out Gorgon's crazy Genestealer Cult army. That one sure takes me back!

Also our front page has had a facelift and it should make things like events coverage easier to find. Check the recent news list at the bottom of the home page for recent goings on.

Baltimore Coverage - http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?aId=4400015

New Site Front Page - http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/home.jsp

We're finishing up the overall Tournament Circuit data and double checking the thousands upon thousands of scores. That should be up early next week. Thanks for being patient while we sort this stuff out, and to anyone that attended a Games Day, GT or Independently run event on the Tournament Circuit, Thank You (x2)!

You guys really made this year special and gave us plenty of feedback to improve things for next year. It's greatly appreciated.

Great coverage! -- particularly of the armies. Big pictures, and a look at every unit and model.... Wonderful to see -- very inspiring. Especially welcome given the paucity of players' armies in White Dwarf lately, and a vast improvement over GW web coverage of GTs in years past.
Well done.

Not to rekindle controversy, but I think it a tad ironic that there are pics of all the things in the 'ardboyz that people are currently fighting about. Namely, bloodcrushers and their bases and those square vegas dice. Ah sweet irony. I CAN, however, almost see part of my head in one pic, and part of my army about to get eaten by those Nobs on cold ones. They hurt so bad! Never enjoyed an a$$ whupping more.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I felt lucky to have won over such a beautiful Eldar army (Eric Furman's). He got my vote for player's choice, and I tried to lobby a few other people to vote for him too.

I'm going to do a full write-up about the army here once I get the pics together. A lot of thinking and planning (and late-night painting) went into it.

I'm already planning the additions, changes and enhancements I want to make. If it goes right, it should look even better and give me some additional options if I want to tune it up for tourney play.

Oh, and kudos to GW. They did a great job with the GTs. And thanks to John for taking the great pics.

Amazing conversions Gorgon.

It took me a second to figure out what you were using, but orks seem logical.

It played out about how I think all would expect. It came down, I think, to who "committed" first, and sadly, that was me. I charged out a bit piecemeal, then got counter punched and that repeated until he had me mostly crushed. Sadly, due to the mission, he had to take a minor victory (you had to claim both objectives to win anything other then minor). Any other mission and he would have massacred me. Great opponent, smart player, and in retrospect, I should have simply stayed out of charge range and let him make first move, though I think he was skillful enough to simply dance around me and we could have played 6 turns in 10 minutes.

Can anyone post the missions or a link to the missions? I can't find them.

Also, I'd love to see the results, but I don't see any stats listed. Where are they? Thanks

The purestrain Genestealers are Kommandos. I used a Broodlord as Snikrot.

The guys with the tendril heads are Acolytes, or in other words Nobs. I used a Chaos Sorceror body for one, a Dark Emmisary for another, a Preacher for another, and then a few other assorted robed bodies for others that didn't make it into the GT army. The tendril heads aren't GCult canon, but I wanted to do something to make the acolytes stand out. The claws (power klaws) are from the plastic Daemonettes, as you've probably guessed.

I heard the missions were similar to the 'Ard Boys missions with mixed objectives (i.e. objectives and Kill Points in some missions). Plus, I heard that there were battle point modifiers.

Does anyone have the actual mission sheets from the GT? Thanks

1. Spearhead Seize Ground (5)
Player A gets 2+ MORE objectives than player B: 17/3.
A gets 1 more: 13/7
If equal objectives, check vps.
A has 175+ more: 11/9
If VPs within 175, 8/8.
Bonuses: +2 for killing highest point enemy unit
+1 if your own most expensive is still alive (and on the table, not falling back).

2. Spearhead Anni
Double your opponent's scord KPs: 17/3
More KP but not double: 13/7
Same vps as previously mentioned.
+1 if you have a scoring unit (not falling back) in enemy DZ at end of game.
+2 if you have more total units alive (not FB) at game end.

3. Pitched Seize (5)
Same scoring as round 1.
Bonuses: +1 for killing most expensive enemy unit. +2 for killing enemy commander.

4. Pitched C&C
Control both objectives: 17/3
Control 1 more than opponent: 13/7
Vps same as usual.
Bonuses: +1 for killing most expensive enemy
+2 for wiping out ALL enemy NON-scoring units (except ICs) by game end.

5. Dawn Anni
Same KP scoring as game 2.
Bonuses: +2 if no enemy scoring units in your DZ at game end. +1 if you have more scoring units alive than opponent at game's end.

There weren't mission sheets. All of the above (with clearer language) fit on one page.

Due to the square corners it is easier to predict the roll.

First off its total garbage that Vegas dice give anyone an advantage. First, it takes years to learn to roll the dice like in that video. Secondly, you can do those dice tricks with any kind of dice, given enough practice. I recently played 3's with a friend and made him puke because I did the whip shot. ( if the sum of 2 dice comes up to a 3, the wearer of the hat must drink.) using normal chessex dice. The whip shot is easier to detect and you can't do it on a normal table, just a smooth one.

I know there is a study that says the smaller, pipped dice roll 1's more often. But I think people are overreacting to the whole dice thing.

I own loaded dice, that look authentic and roll high and low. If you look close enough you can tell they swerve.

Meh... I will contenue to use casino Dice. I always give them a very vigorous shake and throw them a good distance. I use them because they are really the first dice that I have used that roll average that I can get in a good number. I have 3 sets of chessex dice that are so bad that my friends wont touch them now. They didnt believe me at first but I made them play a game with them. As a side bonus though... the casino dice are way easier for me to read considering I have horribly terrible vision.

I play...

Any idiot can pick up those huge dice, palm them with 6's face up, and drop them an inch off the table. They don't bounce and they don't roll. It's not rocket science.

Given the nature of casinos- I'd say it's safe to say that they're not going to use dice that make cheating easier!

Except they have rules that govern how you are allowed to roll that dice that are not included in the GT. Example is that you Must roll the dice clear across the table and bounce them off the bumper on the opposite side.

Which has no relevance when it comes to the actual Vegas dice and whether it is wrong to use them. As I said before...a dice cheat could do the same tricks with chessex dice...not the small ones but the mid size ones.
