So there was I modelling my Ork Trukk instead of getting ready for work this morning, when I came across the gear stick. Yes, I know, another skull :S but it amused no end for some reason and kept me modelling for another half an hour, thinking gold plated skull gear sticks would lend themselves quite well to a Bad Moon Army.

So what's your favourite small detail?

Another of mine would be what I thought was a completely superfluous snail on the Bretonnian Archers sprue. But then I bought the the Warhammer Watchtower set and aforementioned snail has now found a home crawling up the side of the watchman's hut

I like the Empire powder monkey from the Handgunners set. Just a cool little piece!

My mate recently bought a Baneblade kit, and I thought the inclusion of a tool box and sedgehammer was cool. The tank probably gets started like the CIA guy's car in GoldenEye.

I think the last time I was amazed at the random gubbins on a sprue was any of the Ork or Orc and Goblin sprues I bought years ago. The random stuff like skulls, extra armour plates and the like was alway really cool.

I think my favorite detail is from the original metal Ork models... back when topknots were 'hair squigs' that fastened to the top of the ork's head with their teeth.

There were several models that had the squig's face sculpted on at the base of the topknot, where you would usually have the topknot's bindings if it were actual hair.
