Dark Side of the Mood

I am hoping some of you might have an suggestion on how to fit Ogre Kingdoms in the Warband/Patrol format.

These are the Army Composition Rules for Patrol:

• Must Have a Single Hero (No BSB)
• At Least Two Units, No More then Four
• Must Have at least One Core Choice
• You may take One of either Special or Rare Units, Not Both
• You must have at least One infantry unit of 10+ models
• No Unit maybe larger the 25 models.
• No Magical Standards
• No Single Model may cost more then 125pts
• An army may have nor more then One Chariot or War Machine

Army Specific Notes:
Bretonnians: No Army Battle Standard
Tomb Kings: Must Have A Liche Priest as the Hero. Counts as General and can be up to 185pts. Also may have more then One Chariot.
Vampire Counts: A Vampire Thrall can be your Hero.*

Ogre Kingdoms would have a very hard time meeting these requirements. I am open as how to include them.

Think Border Patrol rules appeared before Ogre Kingom Rulebook. I'm guessing that the one you're having problems with is the "at least one unit has to be 10 models". For Ogre Kingdoms, I think you can ignore this one as this is not what the army is about.

They are just fun rules anyway and you can adapt them suit your needs.

Indeed.

I'd be tempted to tweak the whole thing when it comes to list choosing, and instead go through each of the books to find the most likely candidates for scouting/skirmish level encounters.

Examples would be (these are not exhaustive) Shades, Dark Riders and Corsairs for Dark Elves, Reavers, Shadow Warriors and White Lions for High Elves. Ogres I would probably suggest a Hunter, with sabretooths a seperate option (effecitvely giving you a fast Cav substitute) Trappers and perhaps a couple of Bulls.

Edit: They were in the Seventh edition update to Warbands that was posted on the GW site. I'm not sure if it's still available on the site, if not, I have the PDF saved, IM me for a copy.

In short, Ogres require 1 unit of Bulls, Ogres have min size 1 model, Gnoblars min 3.

199 or lower, OGRE(ie., not Gnoblar unit) Unit Champ has to be Commander. 200+ OGRE Unit Champ(may be given Archetype in campaigns unlike other armies), Maneater, or Bruiser may be Commander. If you choose a Maneater or Unit Champ as Commander, may include Butcher or Hunter.

May include 1(model, NOT unit) Leadbelcher OR 1 Scraplauncher OR 1 Hunter with Harpoon gun as your 1 warmachine.

I have been wanting to some how incorporate the Skirmish rules & the Patrol Rules as a kind of Campaign / Escalation Style Game

use a bunch of gnoblars.

I would think 3-4 ogres could easily win most low point games.
