i get a lot of flack from my friends about using the armored company data sheet for my tank(particularly anti tank rounds) because nothing makes a chaos player madder than taking out his filthy baneblade with a couple leman russ with the rounds...hehehe. the data sheet was used in the 06' games day tourni and many other places besides. most of the stiff is fairly point heavy as well (anti tank rounds are 20 pts per tank). why so much bellyaching?

Armoured company also has no scoring units of it's own, so even if the list is ridiculously powerful it does have a weakness (aka inability to win except with wipeout in 2/3rds of scenarios).

That being said, didn't someone run an armoured company list in the last GT? I remember seeing his list on BoLS. He had something like 12 leman russes, and two allied land raider's (one DH, one WH) with troops in them for scoring.

The problem is that most armies have to be balanced to fight horde AND tanks, so when they suddenly find themselves facing a wall of AV14, they're not really sure how to handle that.

You could have scoring units in an AC, you just have to fill your (my :( ) precious troop choices with armored fists squads instead of awesome LR tanks.

And PirateRobotNinjaofDeath is right, I have also seen them played recently in events.

DA 3rd Co. w/duelwing 6000+ pts
Mostly tanks 2000+ pts
Ultras 3rd Co and 1st Co. 7000+ pts
Harald Deathwolf's Co. 7000+ pts
4000+ pts (Daemonhunters)
Kabal of the Hydra 5000+ pts
Skullrippa'z Freebootaz 6000+ pts
Plague Marine Force 2000+ pts
and not finished until I own some of every army

Armored companies, in defiance of all logic, don't get Armored Fist squads as troop choices. Only tanks.

"I went into a hobby-shop to play m'self a game,
The 'ouse Guru 'e up an' sez "The Guard is weak and lame!"
The Chaos gits around the shelves they laughed and snickered in my face,
I outs into the street again an' grabbed my figure-case."
Oh it's "Angels this" an' "Space-wolves that", and "Guardsmen, go away!";
But it's "Thank you for the ordnance" when the Guard begins to play,
O it's "LOOK AT ALL THE ORDNANCE!" when the Guard begins to play.."

I think it's more in compliance with balance Armoured company is strong enough as-is without scoring units. Try playing marines vs 14 tanks with ap 3 or better templates. That they have to win via wipeout is already balanced enough

I think it's because it's just an old, non updated list.

No, you take WH allies - Sistiers & Storms.

Are we talking regular games or Apocalypse? The OP mentions killing a baneblade and ticking off his Chaos opponent. If it's Apocalypse, armored company rules are just fine, balanced, and fit the game. Armor piecing rounds don't seem to out of line when you consider defense lasers and orbital barrages.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.
