Just wondering if anyone picked up on this.
At the time of the 40krules release I remember reading
Jervis Johnson's column and he was talking about the
cover artwork.Well after a long look I was wondering
if he was hinting of a civil war between the imperium
and the Space Marines? If you look at the cover the
Emperor is fighting a 2 headed snake.A sign of major
strife ahead?Could it be that everything is about to
fall apart without the help of chaos? Tune in next week
....

the problem with the "rest" of the imperium splitting with the space marines is that the Mechanicum would have to split.....again (read the HH book, mechanicum to see details of what i mean)

and guardsmen, for the most part, are too in awe of marines to ever really fight against them... so itd almost be more of a "well, the entire military structure of the Imperium, aside from those super hot vixens, the sisters of battle, have broken away from the administratum and council of Terra's rule... and here's Tom with the weather"

no... i figure that in the 41st millenium, the Emperor would still be the "man in charge" but the administratum/inquisition would ally themselves against the adeptus astartes, the IG/IN, and whatever elements of the mechanicus sided with them... and theyd fight to the death over who was more loyal to the guy on the golden throne...it would be a fight that even Chaos would be sayin, "those guys are crazy"

Imageing how many 40k conspiracy theorys would get proven/debunked if it did happen...

A quick thought, All it would take would
be one of the founding chapters to be declared
heretic and all hell would break loose!

Bull. Declared heretical by whom? Yeah, I'm sure that the Imperium would just go nuts eating itself to death because some Inquisitor issues a proclamation. :S

yea im with pariah on that one. who cares really
if i know the rational of a SM commander, they would just order complete annihilation of any faction that called them heretics. THEN the problem would be solved

i think that really, it would depend on what sort, and how high the rank of the inquisitor in question is... i mean if he/she is an inquisitor lord, or a head of an ordo... then maybe their word would have some weight to it... but a lower adept, or a freshly appointed inquisitor trying to make a name for themselves wouldnt stir up a buzz....

I wanna see an Inquisitor try to tell the Inquisition that the Space Wolves are Heretics.

I doubt any SM Chapter would attack another Chapter without 100% Proof of Heretical actions.

Who mentioned the Inquistion?
The Space Wolves don't trust the religious side of the
Imperium , Also I tend to pick up on strands like this:
When the Black Templars codex appeared one little
bit of info appeared suggesting that there were a lot
more Black Templers operating all across the galaxy
than there should be.That beggars the question:How
many chapters are ignoring the decree that limits
each chapter to 1000 marines? The Inquisition are
insignificant in the eyes of the Marines.But what i
the Imperium found out about the higher numbers?They'd
demand a reduction.The answer would be No!And guess
what that would lead to? :imperialeaglegol

i believe that most here just sorta assumed that the Inq. would spark a second civil WAAAAGH!!! by declaring a founding legion chapter to be heretics.

i rather think that most chapters arent at 1000 marines strength... especially ones like the wolves, as they never split their legion...where did all those marines go??? surely there isnt 100k wolves in the 13th company?

well gee space wolves have 12 great companies we dont know how many marines are in a great company but it is larger than a company and there are 12
and there is talk that the templars have 5000 marines from scouts to terminators and there is this ultra marines have 10 companies with 106 marines in them that is more than 1000 and they started the codex astartes

second founding wolf brothers didn't work out
and the space wolves were not that large a leagon at the end if the HH
