SW get Heavy 4 Rending Assault Cannons and 3+ invul Storm Shields as per new C: SM Rules?
Yes, they use updated rules.
No, they use old Heavy 3 rules, 'cause of an out of date summary page, losers!

Similar to the vehicle entry question earlier, Do Space Wolves use the rules for Assault Cannons, Storm Shields, and the like from the new Codex: Space Marines, or are they limited to the brief reference sheet near the end of the codex? I apologize if this issue was cleared up earlier, I could not find it clarified. I did see that Jayden63 thought terminator assault cannons were heavy 3 rending as opposed to heavy 4 dreadnought cannons, because of the last page reference sheet (which also has the old rules for Storm Shields). Was there ever a consensus?

I am inclined to think that they would be able to use the new rules in Codex: Space Marines, because:

1) C: SW Page 14? "Space Wolves Armory" states: "IMPORTANT-Space Wolves may NOT pick wargear from the Armory in Codex: Space marines and must take all of their equipment from the list below. A number of entries are basically the same as their counterpart in the standard Space Marines Armory and, in this case, we've noted this by writing the entry in italics below. There is a brief description on how these items work on the summary page later in this Codex but you should refer to the Wargear section in Codex: Space Marines for a full description."

Storm Shields, lightning claws, space marine bikes, etc are listed in italics. Thus, this would indicate to use the rules from the Wargear section in Codex: Space Marines for a full description, correct?

*of note, bionics have no counterpart in the new C: SM and thus would no longer be useable?

2) C: SW "Space Wolves Wargear" Page states: "The rules below describe how the specialized equipment used by the Space Wolves works in the game. Any items not listed here function exactly as described in the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook or Codex: Space marines..."

These are mostly the non-italicized items from the previous list. The Runic Staff entry notes to "(see Codex: Space Marines)." Thus, the SW psychic hood would be limited to 24" range, correct?

3) C: SW "Summary" "This is a one page summary of the troops, vehicles and special rules used by the Space Wolves, to use as a quick reference sheet when fighting battles."

This is the only indication I can find which would list different (older) rules than C: SM.

So are points 1) and 2) big enough to trump the summary page? Seems kind of ridiculous to be held down to the summary page, as 10 years later, the listings for the Whirlwind weapon, Marine Bike, Typhoon Missile, Shotgun, Auspex, Bionics, (and probably more) are either updated or gone, why wouldnt they then use the new rules for the assault cannon as well?

Space Wolves would use 3+ invul storm shields and heavy 4 rending assault cannons, as per the new rules, correct?

Also, Wolf Scouts entry states: "Options: Up to one Wolf Scout squad may choose weapons from the options included in the Space Marine Scout entry in Codex: Space Marines. All other Wolf Scout Squads may only choose the following options:..."

Wolf Scouts are initially equipped with a bolt pistol and close combat weapon. All of the options for "Scout Squad" page 134 of the new C: SM replaces boltguns for other options. SW Scouts dont have boltguns to start, and cannot get them unless they use their own weapon entry. The only other options would be for the Scout Sergeant and for camo cloaks, which are not a weapon. Thus, I guess Space Wolf Scouts are now limited to the weapons they have in their own entry as they can never start with a boltgun to switch out for other stuff, correct?

The highlighted text says it all as far as I am concerned.
