Howdy,

The latest codex states that the vindicator comes with a storm bolter as standard equipment. My problem is, I don't know where to put it on the model itself. I don't want to use that small-hatch and T-bit, as that takes the place of the upper egress hatch - which I want to use as a regular hatch. I also don't want to use the "pintle-mounted" hatch, as 1) I don't like pintel mounted stuff, and 2) If I did want to add the optional extra stormbolter, I'd put it there.

I considered replacing the sensor thing (above the demolisher cannon) with it, but I like that too. So, I'm resorted to converting/scratch building something for the stormbolter.

Anyone got any ideas or pics?

thanks!

according to current rules, especially at tournies any standard equipment that comes on as part of the model but is not considered its "main weapons" do not have to be modeled on so don't put one on if you don't wish too

I've always been one to say that if it's standard wargear then it doesn't need to be on the model (infantry), but when it comes to vehicles it has to be there.

It is supposed to be a co-axial mounted gun, so mount it with the gun, protuding through the manlet.

That said, with a new IG book coming in a few short months, the "included" storm bolter may be removed from the rules. On the other hand if someone complains about your toy tank having an extra gun, feel free to take a whippy stick to them.

You're mixing up the Vanquisher and the Vindicator(the Space Marine tank with Demolisher).

Pardon?

The Vindicator doesn't have a coaxial weapon. It's gets the same pintle-mount upgrade as every other Space Marine tank...

...or are you just confusing your tanks?

The Vindicator isn't a Guard tank

A co-axial mount is a good idea as a work-around, though.

You could also use the T-mount and simply bolt it directly onto the hull, just in front of the hatch.

Or put it on the sensor mount, with the sensor unit joined to the top or side of the storm bolter.

Or put a crewman in the hatch, holding a storm bolter

So far as the 'not bothering to model it' option goes, you'll ruffle far fewer feathers if you have as much as possible modelled, particularly on vehicles. It's less confusing for your opponents.

I dunno...

You could keep the Sensors and reposition the bolter by putting the stormbolter where the sensors go, then putting the sensors on top of the gun
