Da Red Rokkit

"I take dis 'ere fiddly gubbins in the name of Warboss Wazza Gor!"
The remaining Boyz cheered, and at the helpful prods of the Runtherds, the grots meekly followed suit.
Gor had known from the start he would win this. Sure, he had lost almost all of 'is horde of Freeks, but the favor of Gork and Mork was startin' to shine on 'em, he just knew it.
A boy piped up. "Boss, who's gonna get to drive dat thing?"
"Da Big Mek!" Gor responded.
"He's dead!"
"Den 'is bruvver!"
"I think he was drivin' the Stompa when it went bang," another Boy helpfully added.
"A Nob?"
"Da clanky fings wit da rokkits got 'em all."
Wazza Gor screamed, "I had ordz of nobz!"
"Dere was ordz of rokkits," a grot unintelligently added.
The Warboss scraped what was left of the grot off his boot, and then put his remaining hand over his remaining eye.
"Eenie Meenie, Miney Mork, 'dis Boy just got picked by Gork!"
The rock he had pointed his Klaw at was trying it's best to look flattered. A handful of grotz dove towards the rock, and assembled more or less in to the shape of an ork. Gor had taken a large portion of the pulse fire directed at him to his face, and thus was having trouble telling what was an ork and what was not. He had been going on greenness and height, but the moss on the rock had proved a little too much for him. The grots were way out of his range of visual identification.
"You dere! Whats your name?"
The grot who had formed the head was glad he had taken that baritone lesson. "We is- I mean I is Grotnob, boss."
"Grotnob! Old friend!" The warboss didn't miss a beat, not wanting to appear indecisive in front of the boyz.
"Guess what you gets ta drive?"

Grot-Voltron was pleased.


I started work on this conversion after realizing that I had an extra Tau tank body I was never going to use. After conferring with my fellow Dakkites, I have decided on this configuration:

Looted Wagon
-Boomgun
-Big Shootas x2
-'Ard Case
-Red Paint Job







I have a lot of work to do, but that should be obvious. Will be working on making the boomgun next.
I plan on buying a trukk to cannabalize for the ard case and shoota, but I cannot decide wheteher I should leave it flying or put it on wheels...
Metal Grotz will make up the crew. Cockpit will be carved out and made orky.

I think you might be on to something there. If you make it flying though, you should decide if it's still flying on the original grav-motors or if the Orks build something new to keep it above ground. A bunch of drones and Tau jump packs perhaps

Thanks, I'm quite proud of the writing myself.

As for the flying, I was thinking putting 4 or 5 grots underneath the wagon holding it up, but I decided even with a hammerhead being built for flight, it would be too heavy.
I could make the rear wheels have grots running inside them, like orky hamster wheels. That might mean I could use less trukk bitz, as I only have two spare trukk wheels.

The idea with tau jetpacks and drones sounds awesome, but grot carriers could work too. depends on the execution.

I´ve seen several people make good use out of the gnoblars from the ogre kingdoms range, might be good for this too.

Oh, and also, good writing, you had me laughing at least.

My spray primer comes of skin well before nails, this has caused some ridicule before.

Though it's nothing compared to when I fell asleep at school and my friend hannah painted about 7 of my fingers pink. Hot Pink.

Boomgun Concept

FZZ-FZZ-FZZAP! The "recovered' Tau weaponry let out a series of small energy bursts.
Warboss Wazza Gor was crestfallen. He did his best not to show it, but the team of grots knew it.
Gor did his best to be nice. "Dat's not killy at all! What are you, a snotling? Get dis gubbins 'sploding humies or I'll test it out on you next!"
The group of grots masquerading as an ork were well known to be cunnin', but they might need an act of Mork on this one.
The left leg, Gobzog, had a brilliant idea. "Hows about we hits it wiv' a rock?"
A murmer of agreement was heard. Grotnob disassembled, sending seven grots in various directions. Zamdak, the upper torso, quickly pulled off most of the panels covering the inner workings of the great thing. Wires and plasma conduits went flying, and he pretty quickly had all of the weapons power going to the main barrel. Three grotz returned, dragging the remnants of a Space Marine Lascannon sponson. "Dis looks dead killy to us!" was the general consensus. After much argument about placement and rivet size, they had decided on a few possible configurations.

Grotnob assembled and turned to the nearest ork, a warbiker by the name of Dakka Dakka.

"What do you fink?"

Good choice in #3. I did something like this awhile back, but I tried to put it on wheels- I strongly recommend not doing that. 4 wheels didn't look right, and when I set it up with 3 wheels it kept falling over. You're better off orkifing some sort of hover capability- Like chaining drones to the underside or on strings, like crazy balloons.

hope it is not too late but I like 3 since it bridges the gap between Ion cannon and Boom gun, but the lascannons are blah. Dump 'em for something else. And while you are at it I would even drop the Ion barrel for something more orky like an oil drum per se! Buuuut even if you keep it the way you are it looks good. And per the flying/driving question I like the idea of treads! I have seen wheels and it just does not look orky enough since the Tau hammerhead kinda looks like it could be an all-terrain vehicle. Kinda reminds me of the Isuzu VehiCross for some reason. Keep it up, Yo!

not enough random armor plates or cables - thats all you really need to make it looks like som'fing da boyz wud use

that and maybe a grot with a spanner hanging on to it for dear life

ooh regarding the flying / driving question - I think you should get a whole whack of tau drones and attach them to the bottom to look like the Nebuchadnezzar (Matrix hovercraft)... that would look mean orky!

then just throw in some knobs and levers - ("twist those knobs, pull those levers" Zim)

otherwise - very cool - looking fwd to seeing the finished product
