Am I going to have to pay or can I find a legal download?

You're going to have to pay.

There are NO legal downloads of it.

You also can't ask where to get such or for any here (it's against board rules) and you'd get modslapped for it.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

They're in Imperial Armor 3: The Taros Campaign for regular 40k from Forge World, and the Apocalypse rulebook by GW. I think they might be in the IA:A book, I'm not sure. I'm also not sure how different the rules between IA3 and the Apoc book are, I heard they were basically the same cost and everything but that the GW version was actually worse. If you plan on using it in Apoc only then the Apoc rulebook should be fine.

Do FW and GW sell PDFs of these? If not, do you think it'd be a good idea?

It'd be a fething brilliant idea. Too bad they'll never do it. They'd much rather lose business to internet piracy because their hard-to-find book rots on the shelf in some obscure location, inaccessible by 90% of the world.

Inaccessible only because of the price in my opinion. $100+ for a hardback book riddled with errors and typos that was obviously not proofread? That isn't to say that I wouldn't buy it just for the pictures, but I like to know I'm getting a quality product at least, not the usual garbage at a ridiculous price.

It's not that big a deal. Really.

I own all the IA books, and even if IA3 is the one that has the most obvious typos, it does not detract from the book. IA3 is easily the best of the books, although I like IA4 because it has 'Nids rather than blue-skinned freaks.

Hey my army resembles that remark.

Which is better M.C. the apoc book or IA3 for complete flyer rules?

Hmm... the Apoc book are the rules for flyers in Apoc. The IA books are rules for flyers in regular 40k.

That said, the rules in Apoc are far simpler.

Sweet!! Send me some of your money!! Thanks dude, you're way better than those other guys who say they can afford stuff but then don't share the wealth.

No but seriously folks. I don't really want to buy their expensive books either, especially since I find the printing quality isn't exactly Folio Society. If you want to know something out of IA, I can't tell you because I haven't downloaded the IA and apocalypse books from the pirate bay, so you might as well not even bother emailing me at Captain.Gordino@gmail.com and asking me for info, because I won't be able to tell you. So go away.

It's better to simply be an idiot, as no one can call you on it here. -H.B.M.C.

Cap'n Gordino's instant grammar guide:
"This is TOO expensive." "I'm going TO the store, TO get some stuff."
"That is THEIR stuff." "THEY'RE crappy converters."
"I put it over THERE." "I'll go to the store THEN."
"He knows better THAN that." "This is NEW." "Most players KNEW that."

But IA3 has Tallarn!

But it has blue-skinned freaks. IA4 has Terminators stalking hallways for Genestealers, Bio-Titans being taken out by Inquisitors, and less Dues Ex Machinas than IA3.

Seriously, thanks for the info guys.

That's not entirely correct. The flyer rules in IA3 (among other IA volumes) used to be the rules for regular games of 40K, but since Apocalypse has come out, Forgeworld has moved to a point where all their rules are now written to be fully compatible with the Apocalypse rules. In other words, the rules for Gargantuan Creatures, Super-heavies and flyers for IA are now one and the same as the Apoc rules, just take a look at the back of the latest IA volume and you'll see the 'rules' for flyers and super-heavies are direct copies of the pages out of Apocalypse.

Another example is the recent Imperial Armor Vol 2 update. Having corresponded with Warwick I know that he is trying to move forward to a place where there is only one set of rules for each unit, and that set of rules will follow the 'Apocalypse' style of rules.

So in short, I would strongly recommend getting the Apocalypse book if you're interested in the rules for the Barracuda, as it is the version that the most people will currently be using.

Although I do agree with H.B.M.C. that the Imperial Armor books are just great reads if you're interested in the fluff of the 40K universe.
