Thats quite cool that.

I read that bits from the Trukk and Wagon are interchangable as well, which is nice.

How about you actually take the time to quote your sources?
If I'm not mistaken that pic was taken from The-Waaagh.com and done by CrayolaSmoker.

You're welcome.

Heh. I like the Marines fighting from the Battlewagon in the pic.

It's common courtesy, THT. You saw it somewhere, say where. Lots of posters here do the same when they post something they saw.

As long as he didn't claim it to be his own work, wheres the harm?

It's entirely possible he didn't remember the website name.

Just common courtesy to take note of those things.

On topic, though, it was some nice design sense GW used to make sure these kind of simple swaps can be done. Crayolasmoker also posted a pic of the Battlewagon large turret on the Land Raider, which looked okay. The large turret can also be moved forward on the Battlewagon, which I feel makes it look better and more stable.

Its common courtesy. And why is it a big deal to ask people to source their materials?

Mad Doc Grotsnik wrote:It's entirely possible he didn't remember the website name.

Maybe if he gets enough grief about posting pictures without sourcing them that he might remember the next time he wants to share something.

In any case his possible reasons for it are irrelevant.

I always wonder why it is so difficult for people to link to the original site. Its the Internet. That is what it was designed to do.

Wow didn't realize all the hubub that could be caused be not stating where a picture came from.
Obviously I was not claiming the work was mine, hence the statement "saw/found this on another sight".
in the future I'll be sure to post any and all relevent info when I try to "share" a find.

Har Har! I don't know if I was ever cool! But Alright, alright. I came off as a bit harsh there, sorry ladz. In my line of work, credit where credit's due is a big deal, guess it rubbed off too much in the postings today.

Sorry for the offense, FITZZ. I actually appreciated the spreading of the info, just would have appreciated a nod to the originator.

In any case, it's very cool that all the kits are really starting to work so well together. It'll be interesting to see how the new Stompa lines up with everything from the Trukk and Battlewagon kits. Someone else on The-Waaagh actually did a really nice and simple Trukk conversion (more a flat-nosed style)that used only the Trukk kit parts, and made mention that it was so simple and lined up so well that the parts may have almost been designed that way on purpose. Seems that GW has really been taking the converters and kustomizers to heart lately.

It's common courtesy because if you don't say anything, people assume it originates with you and the true source never gets any credit.

Really interesting picture though. Nice to see the Gw is actually capable of forethought there.

Which is probably why he said "Found this on another sight."

Still, giving credit IS important for many of the reasons listed already.

Seems there will be a lot of bits. Surprised though. It looks smaller than a Land Raider. Would like to see them side by side.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

Except I didn't steal 'em. I built the wagon for the LGS, painted it up, and took some pics to show off different kit configurations. I then took some reference pics to answer questions from posters at a couple different forums.

For the record, I don't mind people borrowing the pics and forgetting where they first saw 'em. Only time I remotely care about "credit" is if you're gonna steal my bandwidth too (which the OP isn't doing). Since the one pic seems to have stirred up some interest here, the rest of the battlewagon pics are as follows:

"Completed" Wagon

Turret-Forward

"Stock" Wagon

Width Reference

Turret Reference

All-in-all I'm highly impressed with the kit. I've already got plans on how to tweak my own into something new.

You missed the point. I wasn't saying you specifically, but "you" generally speaking of anyone who says stealing pics from websites is horrendous. I'm just saying that stolen once is just the same as stolen twice, meaning an original poster stole them from somewhere too.. Most picture posters don't credit their source. Even if the source is the secret backroom of the studio where all the "high res" pics used to get snagged from and given credit to certain Warseer posters.. Now, with those high res pics not being released, said posters have been reduced to guessing and putting together all the posted stuff to inform us of things we already know..

Anyways, it's a picture on the internet, if someone is that caught up in wanting recognition, then perhaps locking the pic so it can't be "borrowed" would be the best idea.. Rather than pissing and moaning about not getting credit for a stupid picture of plastic dollies..

It's a simple matter of crediting your source. As I mentioned before, in my line of work, credit for something you did is everything. In my job circles, unscrupulous people have been known to say they did something they did not, and profit from it somehow. There's no real profiting here, so I came off as hot under the collar about it because I saw it as being too similar.

But there are pictures on the internet that people make, art of their own and such, that the creators deserve to have the recognition for. Not really the same thing as what we are getting at here with the 'plastic dollies' when it comes to new information, but if you posted pics of your own art of models and someone took credit for it, you'd be pissed. I mishandled my approach here, but the sentiment is the same. I just got riled up for someone else.

Enough hubbub about proper source referencing etiquette. The point was well made and well received in the first few posts.

methoderik wrote:

I agree with you 100%. If I get around to pursuing an Ork army, there's no way I'm going to use this crummy less-than-Rhino-scale battlewagon. Don't get me wrong, it looks beautiful and the kit is gorgeous; if perhaps it's function were to hold 5 Orks at max or simply provide a gun (like the Predator, which is already bigger) it would be ideal. Only way 20 Orks are fitting in THERE is if they transform into slime, and even then, all the exit points would be brimming with frothy Ork-goo.

I think what I'll end up doing is grab me a Land Raider or Baneblade and this new Battlewagon kit and bash 'em together. The thing that worries me now is, with this "official" kit, I don't see myself being allowed to use a Land Raider-sized (or larger) Battlewagon in the tournament scene just like I wouldn't be allowed to present regular marines on Terminator bases.

And God said unto Abraham, "Take this mighty bolter, my son, and smite thy enemies from afar. Fear not, Emperor protects..er, I mean, well, youknowwhatImean."
