Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

Partially inspired by the other thread, here is an idea for a Salamanders list using more imaginary miniatures I buy with my imaginary money and paint with my imaginary time I spend not painting my real miniatures.

I originally wanted a Master of the Forge with dreadnoughts out the wazoo but ... NO. IT WILL BE THIS WAY.

Forgefather Vulkan He'stan

Ironclad
2x Hunter Killer Missiles, 2x Heavy Flamer

1x 5x Assault Terminators
5x TH/ SS

1x 5x Assault Terminators
5x TH/ SS

2x 10x Tactical Squad
Meltagun, Combi-Melta
Rhino

1x 10x Tactical Squad
Flamer, Combi-Flamer
Drop Pod

Land Raider Redeemer
Multi-Melta

Land Raider Redeemer
Multi-Melta

// 1940

Probably add Powerfists to the Melta squads or maybe a Multimelta Land Speeder. Vulkan goes in the Drop Pod.

I wanted to take Preds, but this fits 2000 and uses the Flamer/ Melta weapons twin-linking. Also, Vulkan's Sergeant could probably use a Power Weapon to get some kills in close combat.

Speaking of which, one option is an Assault Squad with two flamers instead of the Tac squad but better to take 3 Troop I think.

This squad fills 50 points and is a cool bodyguard for Vulkan.

1x 10x Assault Squad (no jump packs)
2x Flamers, 2x Thunder Hammer
Drop Pod

Or I could lose the Combi-weapons and take two more Terminators but 10 is probably enough. EH.

Why not only one Drop Pod. Start the units on the table. Rhinos are pretty safe alongside the Land Raiders and the dread.

Mostly just because they are ugly. . But a good idea considering they are both twin-linked and free. Maybe I will convert something.

Regarding the Ironclad, I like it without the Drop Pod although you could take a pod too, dropping first turn and flaming something. Like say Lootas. First turn fire Hunter-Killers, second turn run, third turn+ flame and assault. I like it mostly for that extra bit of anti-tank at the beginning of the game.

One Drop Pod is fine. It arrives at first turn and cannot be shot when the enemy gets first turn.
On benefit is that the Pod can land upon an objective.
