Nurgle Chosen Marine on a Palanquin
|
Saturday 10hrs after the midnight sale of the 5th edtion rulebook....
I'm running my same old 4th edition eldar list with harlequins and waveserpents with dire avengers. I decide to try out the new Ramming rules, i figure it won't do muc . My waveserpent with a broken brightlance but good shurken catapults flys 8 inches into the rear of a razorback thats has its weapon destroyed. The serpent needs a 6 to get a penetrating hit. I roll the 6, its at this time that I'm reminded that my harlequins appear to be 5-6" away from the razorback, I'm like well the odds of rolling a 6 and another 6 whats that 3%? I roll the die... I get the 6. We measure and sure enough the entire harlequin squad is exactly 5 1/2 inches away. 7 Harlequins of the 8 are wounded... 1 passes... I take a break check, they break. I cry, friends laugh.
I've never rammed since :p

You are just so witty, man, it's like every one is a classic with you. How do you come up with new material? I mean, when fifth edition came out you started hitting this one and it's carried you all the way through the hundreds of EXACTLY THE SAME HURR HURR FIFTH IS DUMB jokes flawlessly.
You are a master of the comedic arts.

What, no facepalm.jpg, Shummy? It's like you're not even trying any more. And your dogged pursuit of me regardless of thread or context is almost as tiresome as my jokes. BYE

Then how about we both stop? You stop making bad repetitive jabs at the same dead horse and I stop making off the cuff responses berating them?
Everyone wins!

Ok I will try to ignore the above posts and carry on with the OP. Had a cc fex against a sm player. He had taken it down to one wound in the shooting phase before getting ready to charge it with his dread. Dread charges in and hits with 2 of his attack...needed just 1 roll of 2 or more for the kill and BAM...snake eyes. My fex then proceeds to annhilate his dread, then move onto his razorback in the next turn...munch munch.

Latest game, IG vs Nids. Carnifex waltzes up to a squad of women IG and looses in close combat. My chicks took it's last two wounds with rifle butts and bayonets.
Then, one lone gene stealer comes and runs through the entire group of them.

I had a game of my Eldar vs Chaos. The two of us did not get a kill point till turn 4 and 95% of all the cover-saves taken were made. The board was terrain heavy and had lots of trees.
I shortly took my Fire-Prism gunners back to school
Autarch Hod: "this is a picture of a defiler, now here is a picture of a tree. What do you shoot at?"
Fire-Prism Gunnder: "The tree?"
-Psychic Smack!-
Autarch Hod: "wrong!"

Last game I played had all sorts of bad luck in it, but this was definitely the worst.
I was teaching a new player about the rules of 40k and trying to teach as many rules as possible I decided to ram one of his vehicles with one of my wave serpents. The wave serpent moves flat out about 19 inches to hit the side armor of his vindicator. It was a str 9 hit on his side armor 11 so I needed at least a 2 to glance...and I rolled a 1. Against me it was a str 8 hit against my AV 12. He gets a 5 to pen then rolls an immobilized result which, since I had moved more than 12 inches in my movement phase, resulted in a vehicle destroyed result.
What he learned is that you shouldn't ram.

Tau vs Emperor's Children. Come last turn and my opponent has two sizable squads of noise marines on two objectives. I have a lone fire warrior on one. Ten noise marines open up on my lone fire warrior firing thirty shots. My fire warrior goes to ground leaping behind a barricade which affords him a 3+ save. He takes about 15 wounds, but proceeds to save every single one. My half of the turn comes around and between a well placed submunition round and my battlesuit HQ I reduce the noise marines to one model. My Battle suits succeed in reducing the second squad to one model as well and end the turn in CC with the lone noise marine contesting the objective. A miraculous tie. I promptly named the saving fire warrior Hero Boy and promoted him to battlesuit pilot. The battlesuit which bears his name has never been lost in combat. Hero Boy lives!

My Tyranids Vs Orks 1250 pts.......
A biker Nob unit with a War-boss and a Painboy advance up my weak side, they get chewed up by some TL Stranglers. Then a small unit Spinegaunts shoots in leaving another with a wound and charge as my opponent laughs. I roll terribly but on the last D6 pull off a six, the armor save and FNP are both failed and the last nob gets a gaunt stuck in his front wheel and does an endo into boulder.

Yesterday, RTT, Marines vs DE.
Two Wych squads stood in front of five Termies.
Both fired two blasters and killed two Termies.
The remaining three Termies voluntarily fell back 11" thanks to combat tactics.
The Wyches now stood in front of the whole Space Marine army.
