since my paint set didnt come with the last shipment and i have the itch to paint SOMETHING

i tried testing the inks that came , on an unfortunate sisters of battles minis.

with all the random inks i threw on her i'll call her slaneesh >.>

just out of curiosity, there are 3 brown inks i have question about:
Gryphonne sepia ( it looks just like the other 2? )
devlan mud ( is this the old brown wash? )
ogryn flesh ( is this the old flesh wash? )
which one is the wash for yellow D: and red?

just for you arctik_firangi ^-^ i dont have paint but i can mix my wash with my smelly primer lol ( old gw paint on primer )

The face is the first thing that struck me. Very awesome looking, in a Xeno-ghoul kind of a way.

Though it could definetly use some more contrast (and you're probably just screwing around with ink), I'd say for an ink-only paintjob that it looks quite good.

ah ty! the face started with concentrated black ink on the eyes and inner mouth. once its dried i used diluted black ink to go in the shaded areas leaving all the raised surface white. then i used red ink for lips, and i think.... ogryn flesh over the white raised area.

Semantics matter here. The Citadel washes are not inks. They don't behave the same way and I think if you approach them the same way, you may be disappointed.

QFT.

Looks good though. Let's see some highlighting and detail work for a finished product... once you get your paints, of course.

The ink will have a glossy sort of finish, if ink it is.

i guess she is now Order of Valorous Rose : P
with the amount of color switch to actually more Rose color with proper shades of red instead of purple.

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

That's quite an improvement. Was this an actual colour scheme your were considering, or is this, as you say, just out of boredom?

Gryphonne Sepia is a yellowish brown- good for golds, skeletons and flesh.
Devlan mud (Miracle Mud or my favorite name SEXYCOAT) This is a dark brown wash perfect for grime, rust, and general weathering. Putit on anything not meant to be pristine. I always rehighlight to make the colours pop again though.
Ogryn flesh- haven't tried but have been told it is a reddy brown.

it was first to test the new washes on white primer ( but of course i wont color the face blue and guns flesh xD for example )
but lots of parts still dont make sense color scheme wise like green backpack green icon, green guns and holster.
also thought of trying to mix wash with primer so i have some sort of paint for now and just started to paint from there on.

eventually i had so much fun coloring it, i decided to pretty her up abit. ( decided mix of red and purple looks better then plain purple.

but the majority of the effort came from im too lazy to strip the paint if it turns out too awful.
