So, I finally finished my knight paladin, and need some input for colors and stuff. Advice on both colours ands techniques would be appreciated.
Here's a few pics to show how he looks like; he's been undecoated black since the pics were taken, and I've added a few more rivets to the back.
So, what am I sure of?
- All the pistons, fans, and techy stuff will be boltgun metal, with bronze detailing.
- Gauges will be green-white-red.
- Heraldry will be on the outer front panelling (the one with the eagle in the pic) and on the sides.
- I want the head to stand out a bit
Things I'm considering
- Heraldic colours will probably be black and yellow, since that makes for a very striking colour scheme
- Imperials symbols will be white, to make them stand out
- I'm considering a deep green (dark angels green highlighted up) as the main colour. Another option would be a deep, ad mech red, but I'm not sure I can pull it off.
- I'm thinking of painting the head a contrasdting colour; white maybe?
General musings:
- I've considered black, but I'm afraid it'll make the model look too evil, or even unfinished.
- Bleached bone as a main colour might be cool ( think a huge deathwing

). In that case, imperial symbols will be bronze or gold.
- I don't intend to paint heraldry all over the model; I still want it to look like a fighting vehicle
- I don't see the point of camo; its freaking huge and will always have a striking silhouette, so camo would be rather useless.
- I'm thinking bold colours here.
So, any suggestions?
EDIT: oops, was meant to go in the P&M forum, not the P&M blogs; could a mod move it please? Thanks!
