Hey all,
I'm on the hunt for a decent army case. I'm wondering what you use, what works best, and where I'll get the best bang for my buck.
The ones I've found that caught my are:
Sabol Designs model
Anothe Sabol Design
The GW Model
Like, I'm not sure what to look for in a case. I don't know what makes a case a "good" one. And I don't want to get one that's too small, but I don't want one that's going to be ridiculously big either. Any tips please?!

Go with the Armytransport to start, and add Platoons as needed.
That's what I did with my Necrons and I couldn't be happier

How far and often do you travel? Is this from your house to a flgs, or is it from your house across country and possibly international? That'll help determine how much wear and tear you'll need it to stand up to. I used to use an old padded case with my own foam inserts for years when I was starting out. Though when GW issued their case, I picked one of those up as I decided the rigid sides would prevent the occasional breakage that would occur in my previous, relatively flimsy case.

my sabol army transport has served me well for a few years...
i've taken it from alaska to costa rica, l.a. to nyc...
it does the job well, but fragile minis should be wrapped with a bit of bubble wrap, as the can still bounce around a bit in any case...
cheers

Well. I need to transport from home to the flgs, to and from school. And from the dorm room to the middle of campus when we nerds meet weekly to play/paint.
I've been using my AoBR box, but since Christmas, things are a bit tighter in there than normal And my tanks won't fit in my box that's falling apart now.
The platoon looks to be about what I need. But I mean, if I add up the price of the bag and the cost of foam, I may just go with the armytransport because it has the foam included.

I use GW cases, which I've had for years or an Intersponge case.

Well, I have a Motor Pool Sabol case and it has been wonderful. I bought enough trays for all my painted figs and I can fit in 2000 pts. of which ever army I decide to play. All I do is swap out the foam trays when I decide to swap out an army. Makes it clean and simple.

I have 3 of the standard GW cases, four of the double GW cases, and I just picked up an Army Transport Mk.1 and four Army Transport Divisions (the big one).
The Army Transports are the best case around, and I'm now the fourth person in our group to get some. Two of them hold all my BattleTech stuff with room to spare, and the other two are going towards my Necrons and strange models. The smaller Army Transport allows me to move smaller amounts around rather than lugging the large cases.
GW case are fine for basic infantry, but beyond that you need something secure. The Sabol stuff is great.

I picked up a Motorpool case from Sabol this summer and it's been a great case for me. I'm currently filling it up with my elite and special units before I worry about carrying my 150 Boyz and 60 Grotz in much other than a bag.
