I think a 1000 point army will be a good aim, and I already have 2k Plague Marines to complement them

I'd save the money in the bank for another 5 months, so that when the new Codex comes around in May you'll:

A). Have more money.
B). Have more money to do a Traitor Air Cav army using the new plastic Valkyrie, which would look awesome.
