I allready have 6x Baneblade / Hellhammer set up as 2x Battlefield Support companies, and very soon I will have a Titan Hunter company and a Seige company...

I am of course assuming that GW will in fact release the new SH kit in Q1, and also assuming the kit will provide the following variants - Baneblade / Hellhammer / Stormblade / Shadowsword / Stormsword / Stormhammer...

Any more would be even better... ie: Baneblade / Hellhammer kit AND a 6 variant kit.

My Super Heavy tank battalion will comprise of the following companies:

(1) Stormhammer x1, Baneblade x2 (Battlefield Support)

(2) Hellhammer x1, Baneblade x2 (Battlefield Support)

(3) Shadowsword x1, Stormblade x2 (Titan Hunter)

(4) Stormsword x1, Hellhammer x2 (Urban/Seige Support)

That should cover any battlefield options

If everything you posted wasn't this excessive, I'd be a lot more impressed. Have you painted anything yet? Found a suitable opponent yet?

Wow, have you painted all the Ultramarines already dude? I haven't seen your other topic near the top recently... Sure you're not taking on too much?

I've just picked up Aust WD#349 (Jan 09) and it says on p10 "one of six possible super-heavy variants" and on p84... "this is the new Doomhammer" picture.

As usual with GW, we wait forever for the items that we want / need to continue our planning, and they give us stuff that we have never heard off... where are the rules then!!!

Good news though... it may not produce the six variants that we all expect, however, the picture clearly shows two things...

A fixed hull turret, and a foward possitioning ability.

This will create the oportunity to convert ALL known variants with movable and fixed hull turrets, and it leaves open the option for a Stormlord SH transport... I wonder if it has the correct weapon options included in the kit.

So, whatever we end up with, I will still end up with my SH Battalion.

Eight SH variants is no mean feat... Baneblade / Hellhammer / Shadowsword / Doomhammer are known for sure...
possible outcomes depending on weapons included in the box... Stormlord / Stormsword / Stormblade... the only known one left is the Stormhammer or will we get another NEW one?

And, NO, I'm still working on my WIP

From the accessable pics i would also suggest we get :

Shadowsword and doomhammer (WD) + Stormsword (main weapon uses other barrel) + parts to build a stormlord.
Actually I cant see a stormblade,those pics show only the same gun in 3 variants and i don't think we get 3-4 different guns
in one plastic kit at the price-level of the baneblade.
Stormhammer is NOT in because it needs a complete changed hull to do so.And I'm sure we would get a translated Epic:Armageddon
stormhammer (tl-demolishers),so again more different weapons.

Field those fromations of 3 seems fine to me
But we want pics or it doesn't happen

As others have stated...

The Baneblade / Hellhammer kit will still be available... this is the turreted weapon version basic kit

The Shadowsword / plus 5 others kit will be the fixed hull weaopn version basic kit

For us to get the Stormhammer... It will have to be a direct only sprue for the turret / hull mods and weapons

And, it's more than likely that the Stormblade's Plasma Blastgun will also be on that sprue

This only relates to GW bought options and obviously does not leave out FW or conversion options

Well... It looks like they are offering a heap of Shadowbanehammerdoomlordsword worth of new stuff just for fun.

Ah well, at least with the fixed hull chasis we can convert to our hearts content and make anything now.

You'd think FW could make an "Arkurian" Stormblade "Mk.2", which would basically consist of the missing Plasma Blastgun bit...

If it wasn't for all the missing pieces on the top of the hull (fixed turret area) and around the mount (since the blastgun is wider than the volcano cannon) I'd agree.

The blastgun is as wide as the VMB that comes standard for the "StormLord" variant. It's an easy swap, I think.
