Well much in the same way as Malfred's painting table blog this blog will just show pics of things I've recently completed.

Lets start with a model I finished tonight, but still need to do his base. The master of the Ultrawing!
As some of you know I have a thing for cool diorama bases so I figured the coolest thing for this guy would be a renactment of Red Dawn:

Bike close-ups

Base close up

The masters of the Chapter, finished up 2 days ago:

I've still got to bits order the commander eagle headed backpacks for them but other than that and basing they're done.
Remember no screaming bald guys in my army. Marines wear helmets for a reason!

A terminator Librarian, finished last week:

2 Honor guard to finish the calgar box, finished last month:

Techmarine, finished 6 months ago:

Horus, finished a year ago. This is more for Kid Kyoto who wanted some better pics:

I'll try to keep this updated as I finish other projects. For those of you worried about the Warhounds, they've pretty much been put on hold until my garage gets cleaned up... which may be 2030 or so
Until then I have just enough room to paint a few models at a time.

Though your shading could probably stand to be a bit more drastic in places (and a bit less drastic in others), I really like the faded blue color on your Ultramarines (as I'm assuming that's what they are). Also, your technique for painting faded gold is spot-on.

The eagle on the front of that bike looks incredible.

Thanks! Could you give me some examplesof what you think I could improve? I know that Horus' armor is very drastic but that's how I chose to do him.
They are indeed Ultramarines. I've gotten the seconnd and eigth companies almost finished.

Teek - Thanks! I never liked GW's lego style swords so I went with something a little sharper and pre-colored. After I dip the blades in future floorwax they'll appear similar to the other painted weapons I have.

Paul Atreides - LOL! Thanks. I've always hated the bald screaming sargent look. I have a few unhelmeted marines in my army but I'm trying to minimize it where I can.

Hmm, an Ultramarine Ravenwing commander...
Looks nice, very clean, but I think the blue on the UMs is a little too flat and needs some light highlighting or something. Other than that, very nice models.

Trevy the Great - The Ravenwing Bike belongs to the 6th Company, which as fluff says, can be mounted on bikes. To be able to take a bike mounted army I have to take the Master of the Ravenwing. I could take a bike commander from the new book but I really like the Ravenwing rules.

Is it the Ultramarines in general or just the bike that appear flat? All the marines are sprayed with a grey primer then washed with Asurman Blue followed by a light Ultramarines Blue drybrush. I then pick out the other colors and do touch-ups with the Ultramarines Blue.

The bike on the other hand (except for the pilot and nose) was painted all Boltgun Metal and then covered over with Ultramarines Blue when I found out how ugly Boltgun all over looked.

The Librarian was also done differently as I used a Mordian Blue (with 15 drops of Chaos Black) base coat and then did the Ultramarines Blue drybrush.

Well on Friday I primed up 9 Devestator marine models and tonight I finished them up!
All 9:

Sarge and bolter with flash:

Sarge and bolter without flash:

Ammo Carriers:

Headless guy and bolter guy (I didn't notce this model was headless until I went to paint his lenses and I noticed he was missing a head!):

2 Heavy bolters and a bolter guy

I picked up a Gale Force 9 ten model skirimsh tray and I noticed my old magnetized bases don't fit into it. So I decided to cut all the old bases off my models and glue new bases onto them (I'll paint and flock them later). Here they are:

The rebased average bolter marines:

blacktemplars1st - Thanks! The master is just the Master of the Ravenwing with a new plastic body (from the commander box), and painted blue.

malfred - Horus was just done on a whim but it was deffinately a nice change of pace. I'm looking forward to building some of my chaos marines when I finally finish the marine and tyranid backlog.

I dunno...

IMO, the Master of the Arsenal looks a little weird holding a helmet in his hand when he is already wearing one...

Well here's some of the updates I'd promised!
I'm trying out a new camera and I'm still getting used to it, so forgive the blurryness.
These are some of the plasma marines I painted:

4 new Heavy bolters (bringing the total up to 8 for the company):

And Sicarius:

The blending in the cloak looks better in real life.

A couple of pics of 2 of the 55 chaos marauders I painted up on comission:

The GW Realm of Battle board I helped paint for my work, I also did a pack of GW craters, a GW modular hill, and a GW gaming hill :

Here's a pic of a mug I did as a painting award:

The Camera makes the models Blue look way to bright almost like purple and blue mix. IMO just a heads up.

Compared to the other pictures there alot birghter in a bad way.

ghostmaker - It's odd how the pictures of the mug, gaming table, and marauders look ok, but the marines are so washed out. I used the same flash setting and everything.

typhus - *waves hands* because it's chaos *waves hands*

Looks great Foda.

I taped some kitchen towel paper over the flash on my camera and it now takes much better close up pictures - not so overexposed.

BTW - any update on the Warhounds? I'd love to see where they're at and my son still asks me whether there has been any progress on it after we went through the thread from the start...

Cheers

Nice looking Ultras. I respect that they all keep their helmets on, masters included (which look particularly sweet).
