OK this keeps coming up so i though it would be interesting to get a range of views on it ...
Raw a monolith can't be destroyed by weapon destroyed or immobilised result ... it can A) always deduct 1 from the number of shots the Flux Arc can shoot & B) the power matrix can never be destroyed ...
Way that I play it is that the Flux Arc can be destroyed 6 times and then the monolith counts as not having any weapons ... This IMHO is RAI. (The power matrix can never be destroyed so doesn't count)
So why the big fuss? Well the best you can get is a glancing hit with str:8 ... AP:1 and/or tank hunter, let you get a chance at destroying the monolith. Some races will have trouble getting this ... yes you can aim for phase out but that's not always an option with a Monolith sitting 2" from you
Should a monolith be destroyable on a glancing hit? I would say yes, since the 4th Edition lets you blow up vehicles on a glancing hit, so as amazing as a Monolith is it should still die after taking 8 weapons destroy/ immobilised results.
Well that's my 2c, what your view?

Other: kill all the Necrons instead, the Monolith will go away. Then you won't have to think about the rules mess that the summer cottage makes with all the incoherently worded paragraphs.

The Flux Arc has D6 shots, and the rules state that a weapon destroyed would take 1 way from this dice roll. In turn it would take 6 weapon destroyed results to silence the Flux Arc for sure. Since the Power Matrix CANNOT be destroyed, and it is responsible for the particle whip (which counts as a weapon) it will ALWAYS have something to shoot you with. Thust the Monolith cannot be destroyed by weapon destroyed and immobilised results. Even if you happen to immoblise it and strip off all the Flux Arc gunns. For it to be considered destroyed just ask yourself are all the weapons destroyed? No the Power Matrix aka Particle Whip is and always will be there since it CANNOT be destroyed. Love it or Hate it thats how the necrons roll.

7 weapon destroyed/immobilized hits will however make the d6 shots useless.
The answer to this should have more correct answers. Please read the codex more clearly.

Pure RAW: No
The way I see it played (and this only came up once in all my years of playing): after you silence all the Flux arc shots and it is immobilized.
I do not see this as a big issue at all, if someone is crazy enough to dump that many shoots into a monolith, then they are gonna lose anyways whether it is ever ruled that it can be brought down or not from glancing hits.

No matter how many weapon destroyed results you get, you will never destroy the power matrix and therefore, the monolith will ALWAYS have ONE WEAPON (the particle whip).
You're better off killing all of the 'necron' models and going for phase out (unless you're tau, in which case, feel free to blow up the pyramids and then die as you're overrun anyway.) and ignoring the monoliths.

If you accept the concept that the Gauss Flux Arc can be destroyed by some number of weapon destroyed results (most pople will say 4 due to the number of guns physically mounted on the monolith or 6 due to the number of weapon destroyed results needed to make any dice roll for the Flux Arc result in 0 shots fired) Then you actually can destroy the monolith through a large number of weapon destroyed or immobilized results. While the Power Matrix states it cannot be destroyed by a weapon destroyed result it is also not listed as a weapon that the vehicle posesses in the vehicle's entry in the codex, in other words, it's not even considered a weapon in the first case but some unique piece of wargear that happens to be able to attack. This means, merely destroying the Gauss Flux Arc would be enough to have all weapons on the vehicle considered destroyed.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

Really because the Necron rule book says for every weapon destroyed hit take a -1 to the number of shots the d6 gets. So you can have - infinity.

This is done talking about. You can't destroy the Monolith without getting a modified 5 or 6. You have beat this to death. I'm 100% right on this. Move on.

@ MauleedLovesYakeface ... Which i mentioned in the OP ... there is no limit set by the codex ... commonsense however says zero = nothing left, but that not RAW @ Drunkspleen ... good spot... hadn't seen that the power-matrix wasn't classed as a weapon @ everyone ... people have asked why dump that many shots into a monolith, phase outs good but 2 monoliths can block up a very large area (placing them corner to corner with 2.5" between them) (3 you cut the board more or less in half) you could effectively pin some armies in a corner and simply came objectives (and that particle whip will get kill points) races that are stuffed by this most are Tyranids (carnifex is the only thing that's strong enough), Dark Eldar (they can take haywire grenades) and orks (They've got things that'll kill it, just not allot) (Slight edit so people know who i'm talking to ^_^)

yadda yadda, posts like that make me sick...
HOWever, i agree that the rules say that the flux arc reacts in a different way towards 'weapon destroyed' than other weapons do. The number of shots is reduced time and as long as the rules don't say something else, there is no additional effect (for example, the destruction of the weapon).
I believe (see how i start this sentence, MauleedlovesYakface?) that the power matrix really isn't to count as a weapon and is rather a piece of wargear, as mentioned above. Sadly (for the non-necrons  ) the flux arc in the one indestructable.
TL;DR: You have beat this to death. I'm 100% right on this. Did that answer your question!?

Assuming you were adressing me Mauleed, I was quite clear in stating that I was talking based on the assumption that you allow the Flux Arc to be destroyed by some amount of weapon destroyed results.
I was merely adressing the concept that the Power Matrix is a weapon which was raised by two other people but is actually a falsehood.
Plenty of people I know play that the Flux Arc can be destroyed, so you can destroy the monolith with glances, RAW you can't, but we all know how good the Necron codex is with the way it's rules are written.

Now scores so far 62%[21] don't think it can be destroyed 30%[10] do ... i thought that that more like 80% wouldn't
