Still not that clear but in the past I have used blu-tak (used to stick posters to walls) then have coated the blu-tak with super glue then painted - worked a treat.

Check out my gallery here
Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

Luna, you've turned this thread into comedic genius with that diagram. Bravo!

More on topic, does play-doh really hold enough details for miniatures? I can see using this technique for a wall, movable hill or something along those lines, but I can't imagine play-doh being a precision medium. More pics!

Under the couch

The glue coating will harden the surface, but it's not going to do anything for the middle. The dough there will still be soft once it's thawed out, so the mini will crush easily, and I would imagine that it would still dry out and crumble over time.

Goblin I thought it was more like a snotling ( can you guess where the emphasis should be ? ) Sorry to sound so harsh, but I have seen better.

Sorry to say this but if your going to buy Playdoh! then spend gw expensive superglue covering everything and trash one brush in this process... (and i'm not even commenting the results) then its better to invest in GS in the first place.

I can see you had fun with it but I personally cant find your sugestion usefull, sorry.

Agree with Navarro.

Playdoh: 1-2 Dollars?
Super Glue: (You're coating it, say 20% of the bottle) 1
Elmers Glue: 1
Brush: (A very bad one) 1

You're at ~4 Dollars to make this model, maybe more like 2.50 if you keep in mind theres plenty of playdoh and elmers glue leftover.

1) The results are...well lets just say I don't see anything recognizable even as a shape in the photo.

2) Big tubes of green stuff are about 10 dollars and are plenty to do about 20 of that model. So I'd say, cheaper.

Interesting idea, but I can't see it being practical/worth it

Its not a goatse goblin (whatever that is), its a roper from D&D (Kind of like a living stalagtite) but it seems to be missing the tentacle arms. So play-doh can be used to make a blob? Truly remarkable!

Perhaps a better demonstration of this technique's potential would be the sculpting of something that isn't supposed to look like a brown blob in the first place.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

I think you should post an additional, non-blurry picture.
I would like to see it with a bit more clarity.

When the picture is too blurry people will look at them like (Goatse) clouds.
Which, while awesome and hilarious, does not allow them to critique you work.

Well I know I won't begiving up GS for this 'miracle' cure, LOL

The play-doh guy is completley devoid of detail, and like Insaniak said, if anything lands on this with any force it will be smooshed flat.

Waaay to much effort for such mediocre result. GS will be more cost effective and by far more time effective.

Nice try though Ray, a good 'out-of'the-box' type idea...
