Here are some pics of my army... Understand that I suck with a camera, and most of the pics will be a lil blurry

Here's my Daemon Prince. He was made with a model called 'Iron Golem' that I've had for ages.

Here's my lord and a biker. The lord was converted from an Emperor's Champion. lol

And of course, what's a chaos army without some Marines?

Now, these guys were converted from Chaos warriors. I really like how they turned out. I hope to get some better pics of them soon. sorry for the blurriness. >.<

Here are some custom Possessed marines, made with CHaos marine and Tyranid parts. I really love how they turned out. I was going for the 'infested terran' from starcraft look. lol

So what do you all think? I know the quality's bad, but I'll get this camera thing down soon enough. lol.

a hint with the camera.... pull back a little with it and you can crop the pictures to the size you want. otherwords not a bad start on your army keep up the work.

This is a good start, and it looks like most starting paint jobs.

My basic comments are:
- thin your paints with a little water / pre-wetted brush
- consider a thinned coat of black / brown / GW wash afterwards for shading
- keep at it!

what JohnHDD said.

and i suggest addint some bright Colors to your EC lord. He needs something to brighten his look. he/she is EC after all. All in all, nice start.

I always like to see unique armies and looks like your well on your way to building one, i would just echo the advice of JohnHDD, specially about watering down the paints just a little, doing just that made the biggest improvement when it came to my painting

@ Twister: lol thanks. I'll try that. and yeah... I never thought I'd find such wisdom in a Pixar movie. XD

@John: My paints are Enamel, I can't afford citadel paint. Water does nothing XD

@Enmitee: Perhaps, but my army isn't Emperor's Children. It's Slaanesh following, but then again, there are many different chaos factions, are there not? it's a custom army. These followers aren't so brightly colored, and have a color scheme of mostly black, pinkish-purple, and red.

For your pinks, you may want to basecoat in a lighter color, Citadel Dheneb Stone (Foundation) would probably be a good choice, so that the black doesn't show through and it would help brighten the pink.

Enamels? Oh, no...

I think nearly everybody has stopped working in enamels because they're so very hard on brushes during cleanup, not to mention the evil thinners / solvents on the user.

And to be honest, techniques aren't the same, although painting is doing more blending now. But IMO, you're hurting yourself with them. You would get instant improvement if you just used GW washes to finish your minis.

I'd suggest you get a GW starter paint set, as it has the most colors for the least outlay. The paints are small, but at least they're water acrylic, so the paint techniques can be matched and followed.

Failing that, there are at least 3 major hobby paint suppliers: GW, Reaper, and Privateer Press. Plus Vallejo. Any of them would be fine.

Or you could switch to craft paint from Delta / Ceramcoat at Michaels, though I have no experience with this.

But the washes are great, and you'll really want them after the basic acrylic paint.

I recently stripped my two regular squads, and I don't really use the DP much anymore. I'm repainting my army, so yeah XD

The main reason there's the red is because I wanted a color difference between squads. lol.

I'm fixing that soon.

I don't think so, but I can't be sure. I have a bunch of old MageKnight minis, but they're made of this soft, flexible plastic and they're all pre-painted.

this guy came in a metal blister pack...

Chicken= Yes, the painting is messy. I used enamels and it was a long time ago. I'm repainting my army lol. these are old pics.

and now... maybe half an hour, depending on what kind of marine it is. More detailed guys tend to take longer lol.

GoffNob= Yeah, I used it... as I've said before, I absolutely suck with a camera. To be honest, taking these pics here was the first time I'd used a camera in ages. lol

I see why you are having blurry pictures and I have the solution:
Step 1: Your camera is way too close too the minis back up a little.
Step 2: Zoom in on the minis.
Step 3: Focus on the minis don't take the pic yet.
Step 4: If the pic is blurry then zoom out a little and focus.(repeat this step if necasery)
Step 5: take the pic.

EDIT:
I usely have my camera on automatic or in other words it does most of the things for me.
