Hi, due to the mass confusing with discussing prices for trading selling minis,
i have placed an estimate to what i think should be fair pricing.

But of course its open to discussion , comments ! would love to hear your opinion .

NIB , Unopened Package : 35% off retail

Out of Package but New on blister / sprue : 35% off retail

Glued, Assembled, Never Primed : 35% off retail

Glued, Assembled, Primed ( one light coat not like some selling re primed over ugly paint job ) 35% off retail.

Half painted , missing minor parts , ( depends on the severity ) 40%-50% off retail.

There we go! Please leave your thoughts so i can be less stressed over the swap shop lol. Thank you for reading :3

One thing I noticed...if its a multi part kit I won't ever give the same value for something thats already been assembled. Or primed.

Also, if its missing parts...thats a big hit to me. I usually am swapping so I can field an army..cant do that with "Bob the one armed Guardsman". But thats just me.

As I've said elsewhere, my rules of thumb are as follows:

- Warstore = NIB 20% off retail with fixed $5 shipping and credit card protection
- NIB / NOS = 25% to 30% below retail
- painted metal = 30% to 40% off retail, because stripping metal is easy
- painted plastic = 40% to 60% off retail, because stripping plastic is a PITA
I generally prefer not to deal with painted plastic anymore, as the aggravation and low valuation makes it easier to just buy new.

And if stuff is missing parts, the value drops even more!

Well, considering that most stores sell around 20%-30% off for NIB, anything past that should be less then 30%. If it's out of the package, I won't be paying as much as I would if it had the box, regardless of the model. The box is my assurance that I'm getting everything that the kit is supposed to offer.
If the model's been glued, that's also a loss for me, as I like posing them.
If it's primed, if it's not white primer, then it better be cheap.
And if it's painted, even less, unless it's been painted specifically for sale.

I never pay anyone more than 50% for assembled plastic.
There are too many variables with plastic. If they used plastic cement the model is next to impossible to disassemble, and most kids don't know how to use the glue which makes globs of undetailed mess everywhere.
The ammount of cash I pony up also depends on how rare a model is. If I'm looking at devestator seargent backpacks or commander bits they'll be worth a bit more (even attached to a model, if I think I can clean it), but just tactical marines are worth about nothing.

My own personal guidelines

New - 35% Retail
Assembled - 50% Retail.
Damaged - 65% Retail.
Missing Parts - I won't buy it.

One exception about painted minis: I've sold off painted armies in the past (due to dwindling interest), and people have generally liked the condition and paint job such that they don't factor negatively into the pricing. If they're in the market for a complete army, they generally also don't have much time to paint either. If the paint job's decent, it works out favourably for them. I gave the bundle discount on full armies, but I always made out better than 50%. Take care of your minis, and they'll have higher market value.

On the purchasing end, I usually bought new kits (i.e. squad or vehicle) for 30+% off. But I've seen people sell pewter, unpainted infantry-size models for up to 50% off.
