Has anyone read the latest issue of amazing spider-man? In it harry osborne has this gun that looks exactally the same as a bolt pistol, check it out!

Wow, even the headlights are the same as the Rhino mk1. That takes all the doubt out of it for me.

Indeed, made from the spare parts from the Spartan Rhino/Land Raider conversion.

I'd love to see a modern take on these two vehicles using the new kits.

Thats a point i'm real interested in Tribune. Do GW actually own the bolt pistol look? Can a company own a gun shape? Would GW have to get the law ninjas out on marvel to protect their IP , or would this come under fair use?

Wow! That's like... not subtle. That IS a bolt pistol. With a grappling hook. When the OP posted, I assumed it was kind of reminiscent of a bolt pistol, or bolt pistol-esque. That IS a bolt pistol, though.

Perhaps it was copied from some random collection of images he has to take inspiration from - perhaps he has no idea what it actually is!

I'm not a lawyer, but I'm not sure that those additions would constitute a lack of IP infringement. Perhaps Lord Commander Janthkin will pop in and enlighten us.

At first I thought that man was on fire because he was hit with said bolt pistol, but was disappointed toi see a silly oversized salad fork sticking out of it. Still, funniest thing I've seen all day.

Personally, I'd like to see how artistic liscense would play in this situation. As an artist myself I'd stay away from doing anything like this given how most companies are going ga ga over protecting their IP. Remember how you used to find nearly every type of car as a model back in the 70's and 80's? Yeah, you don't find that now because the car companies realized they needed royalties from the Model manufacturers for using their IP. On the other hand, the same can't be said for Military Hardware since that is the property of the people since their tax dollars pay for it. It didn't stop the manufacturers of military hardware from trying to get royalties though.

Certain designs can be slapped with a copyright, just like certain company colours.

Could it be that warhammer 40k is the future of marvel comics' universes? I mean the super soldier serume could be a prototype space marine
