Ok, if anyone knows if this has been done and can provide the links, please do share.
I'm thinking, maybe a group effort, to convert an actual vehicle into a WH40K style tank. Of course, the investment of time will be huge, the cost not so much through the wonder of scratchbuilding and the organizatiion will be ... interesting.
Anyone interested in seeing if this is feasible?

Well, as big as an M113 anyway. That's not a bad basis for doing such a thing, don't know that they cost "not so much" though.

I guess that ten seven-foot tall musclemen in thick armor would feel a tad squished in there.
Yeah. That's all right. It looks fine if you figure the marines are closer to our size.
I haven't heard of any of the others. Are you considering anything non-marine for this?

Likely cost them next to nothing financially. Just surface changes and no active weapons on the vehicle means it can done by most any metal worker with time and tools.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. IG vehicle would be better for scale, probably. Plywood and scrap metal over a van/su4/4x4 should do the trick.
The cost time thing is an equation, isnt it. Increase the time and lower the cost and vice versa. I'm not expecting this to be done in a week. Still, if you want to volunteer for a organised brainbash and logistics talk, raise your hand.
EDIT: That is one godawlful color scheme on that rhino.

I'd be interested in a project like this, perhaps my skills as an Automotive Design engineer would come in handy, not to mention the 3D design programs I use
If you want to look at vehicles that may make a good basis for a WH40K tank conversion, take a look at this site ( UK based)

These types of projects always sound good on paper, and everyone starts off with good intentions, but they ALWAYS hit the same issue....
Who owns it at the end, who pays for it, and where does it live.
Seriously, this will ALWAYS be the stumbling block.

A bit of everything really....... Titanicus, Bolt Action, Cruel Seas, Black Seas, Blood Red Skies, Kingdom Death, Relic Knights, DUST Tactics, Zombicide the lit goes on............. |
