So... any clues on how to model one of these badboys? Better yet, a picture of what they are actually supposed to look like?

Nope.

I think the Chaos Dread has a hammer as one of its close combat weapon options.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

I agree with the Cheese Elemental. The chaos dread model has a great hammer option that would do for this conversion.

Various piston-y bitz, and a deathwind missile launcher from the drop pod. Bit o' plasticard over the pointy missile bitz, and you're in business.

I played a red alert 2 mod once that had a seismic tank in it, the weapon was a huge hammer and sickle, the hammer fell, smashing the ground and causing damage while the sickle acted as a guide rail to make sure the hammer fell straight, maybe something similar?

I am tossing around the idea of cutting off the end of the lascannon arm and using two thunderhammer heads like a dual piston hammer.

Well... I'm going to be grabbing a drop pod for the dread, so the deathwind missile launcher thing sounds reasonable.

Based on the CAD drawings from last year's Games Days, the Seismic Hammer looks nothing like an actual hammer. It is more of a 4-pronged end on a Dread CCW. I converted an Ironclad a few months ago based on this drawing. I'll take some pics tonight and get them uploaded so you can see.

The Claw and Scourge were the two options in the box. There was also a hammer that was only available through mail order.

My take on the Seismic Hammer looks (so far) like this:

That beats the few things google seemed to find on them. They looked like french ticklers. My friends threatened to disown me if I put those style hammers on my dreads. Heh.

My version is similar to a pneumatic piston, like the kind used to kill cows in a slaughter house. I'll get a picture when I can.

The chaos dread metal hammer works pretty well. It was pretty easy to fit into a AOBR dread arm.

I used a las cannon and part of an old hunterkiller missile box for this one. It turned out ok.
