Is their any differance between GW green stuff and the poxy's sold on TV (mighty putty).
and yes, I know their is a color differance. Do all poxys work just as well for modeling, or is their something different about them.

If you get industrial-strength stuff, used for plumbing, it will be much harder to work with (but will also dry much harder).

I recommend Kneadite. Much cheaper than GW's Green Stuff, and it's essentially the same exact thing.

Actually, it IS exactly the same thing. And I would recommend it also.

the mighty putty is ALSO a 2 part poxy, but it's designed primarily for plumbing and adhesive use. It probably isn't as fine grained as the Kneadtight is. Not all putties are created equal. The most widely used ones for sculpting are the Kneadtight (also called green stuff), Apoxy Sculpt (dries yellowish tan, is harder and much more sandable), Milliput (blue/white. Dries a kind of off white. GW sold this for a while but then went back to the green stuff. It's basically the same as the kneadtite, but a little firmer.) and ProCreate ( Black/white. Dries gray. claims to be less tacky when wet than the Greenstuff. Could be useful for not sticking to tools, but I haven't tested it yet.)

It's all different stuff.

There are a lot of variables. Cure time, hardness on cure, etc.

I've used "green" and "brown" stuff. Brown stuff tends to be harder when cured, is easier to sand, and takes detail a bit better. It's not as sticky, though.

You'll simply have to experiment with what works for you.

Milliput is sold at good model shops in the UK. There are several different grades of coarseness and fineness. It's good stuff for filling gaps, cementing parts and bulk sculpting. Greenstuff (Kneadatite) is better for detail work.

You can get anything online, of course, but delivery costs often make it expensive.

I tried Procreate once, but all I ended up with was a kid!

Seriously though, there is also Apoxie Sculpt. I generally use it for larger projects but in a pinch it will also work for normal putty work.

"That is THEIR stuff." "THEY'RE crappy converters."
"I put it over THERE." "I'll go to the store THEN."
"He knows better THAN that." "This is NEW." "Most players KNEW that."
