What size base should objective markers be on? I've got an idea for markers for my army but want to make sure the large 60mm base size is okay. I did a quick read through the book, but didn't find anything.

You can make objective markers as big or small as you wish. In some WD they have entire terrain pecies as objectives. I use Poker Chips, I am lazy....

I have a bunch of SM personal banners on 25mm rounds as objectives (since none of my SM sgts wear tem), some of the more ornate ones on larger 40mm bases and big chapter banners (from standard bearer) on a 60mm base (fallen, naturally).
This is just using the bits I don't otherwise use.
For my Eldar, a similar thing, but using Dire Avenger and High elf spares on similar sized bases.

The ones they handed out at the 2008 US GTs used 20mm rounds as their bases. The ones I took to use used termie bases. All a matter of personal choice, IMO.

@don: GW doesn't make 20mm round bases as far as I've ever seen.. Maybe the were based on pennies?
Anyhow, I like 40mm Objectives - large enough to be scenic, but not so huge as to get in the way.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it. |

I play Tyranids.
I use the terrain looking bits that come on many sprues for objectives.
Somewhat unrelated. . .
Does anyone have issues with people picking up objective markers?
I played a game a while back where one guy was continually removing them from the board to place more of his guys "on the objective, since its a spot and not an object."

As long as the spot was somehow marked so that measurement to it is consistant through the game (thats the point of the object afterall), sure go ahead and move it. But that spot is represented by that object as i said.
So how do you know the exact location of the spot when the object gets shifted around?
